Today I’m publishing 3rd and final part of the लेख series about my handmade, crochet Captain Jack Sparrow doll.
I started this project in late summer of 2019, and now, और than a साल later, I am finished. Not everything went as planned and I actually finished it much sooner than I ever expected to.
Very recently I published part 2, दिखा रहा है pictures of a कमीज, शर्ट I made for doll, I told that I am planning to also make a vest, hat, jacket/coat, and a few belts. However, as I finished the vest, I came to a conclusion that putting too much layers of crocheted clothes on the doll wouldn’t end up looking any good. See, crocheted material is a quite hard and thick, many layers would just make the doll look very bulky. I tried the vest on, and as it was a quite long, in combination with same, dark blue color pants, and since it was covering the कमीज, शर्ट और than I liked, it just looked too boring, monochrome, and already too many layers on his torso. I decided to not to put the vest on, and not to waste my time making और clothes, I also came to a conclusion the hat would be most likely impossible to put on his head, as the little ponytail with toothpick in the front and big braid in the back wouldn’t allow the hat to be put on, and as a result, If I forced it on, it would simply rip his hair.
So I finally decided to simply dress him in shirt, pants and that red/white fabric thing he had around his waist (remember the scene in first movie, where Jack and Elizabeth are on the island, drinking rum, and she later burns it, and then there’s his iconic “Why is the रम gone?”), in that scene Johnny/Jack was wearing just the shirt, pants and that बेल्ट thing. So I decided, my doll doesn’t need much और clothes anyway. If his boots are taken off (as in some pictures), his look is an exact resemblance of that scene.
So here’s the finished product, I guess I should also get some miniature रम bottles to make everything look complete XD
I’ll try to catch a moment when Johnny is और active in his Instagram account, and post pictures of this doll, tagging him, then I’ll hope that he will notice the photos. Wish me luck. I’ll inform आप all if anything interesting happens.
After this long process of making, finishing this project leaves a little feeling of emptiness in me, but it only means that और new creations are coming soon, so stay in touch, और DIY अपडेट्स are coming very soon.❤
