I know fanpop didn't exist, but is this how everyone reacted when House was involved with Stacy?
Let us not despair. Hmmmmm.
Ok...I'm ready for a Huddy-Lu 3-way if that will put House & Cuddy in the same room!! Desperate measures..I know.
The first example that comes to my mind is the complete contradiction between this interview and the one he gave to "TV Guide" in autumn, in which he called Huddy the "new team on the show" that will get all the attention "later this season", while they explore and develop their relationship... That sounds completely ridiculous at this point, looking in retrospective and in relation to the new interview he just gave, and if we are to suppose that things will get much better "in the foresseable future" until the end of the season, then what's up with all the Luddy talk, both with David Shore and Katie Jacobs?...
What they did to Jennifer/Cameron makes me be even more sure about the fact that they take pride in not searching to offer the viewers the demanded gratifications. Perhaps they use the focus groups to see what fans want and then give them the exact opposite, God only knows... Cameron had a big fanbase and a lot of people were eager to see even more of her on the show (which, btw, in a very cruel manner David Shore actually promised in the beginning of season 6...), and they sacked her for "creative reasons". Perhaps they were fighting with Jennifer, perhaps there were various non-creative reasons for this decision, but it still is something they did without giving a crap about what the fans would want.
My guess is, it's part of their concept of the show to be as original as possible and never give in to anything except their own creative visions, however non-gratifying for the viewers those are. It's also the main reason i first fell in love with the show, but some of the directions in which they chose to push the stories and the characters have become frustrating in time.
Belle, i know you disagree, i am sorry to be bitter like this, but i cannot view my status as a Huddy fan like a religion that i have to be a fervent adorer of, without any proof. The reason i support Huddy and i talk about Huddy and i dream about Huddy and i try to show all the people i know how great Huddy is, is that it brings me satisfaction and joy and it's fun and interesting and it offers a very pleasant way to elope reality and find refuge in good quality fantasy-world. We all need that, it's a basic human need, there is no reality-based sanity without the escape of fantasy. But the thing is, opposed to harsh realities, fantasy should be able to offer easier gratification, otherwise it's not serving its purpose. For a lot of us (of course, not for all), this season Huddy provided very little satisfactory escapes in the fantasy world of PPTH. However, i am sure the writers can manage to offer us some gratification without actually getting Huddy in a full-blown relationship, and that's probably what they'll do. I'm gonna try to take some distance and watch them solving this situation, what else can i do...
You can feel free to disagree with me whenever. It isn't a problem for me. I think the difference is that there is proof to me, and not to you. I think it is a matter of perception. What you view as a satisfactory level of Huddy and what I view as a hope for Huddy are apparently totally different and the level of what we need as fans is also different. If every season was like this season, I would feel upset and bitter. At the same time, I can't say I have been miserable this season. There have been some really great episodes too. Lean on Huddy, and yes I am a little more of a creature of faith. Maybe I shouldn't be. Sorry about that.
