I chose Alastor because he's so funny, no-nonsense, courageous and very competent. He is, along with Severus and Fred, one that I would not have "killed". *sigh*

The first Order must have been active, as per my estimations from the characters' age, between 1977 and 1981 (date of Voldemort's "disappearance"). The main members (such as Remus, Sirius, James, Lily, Peter) had come of age in 1977/1978. Before that, they were in Hogwarts and could not have become members of the Order by then.

Molly was not in the first Order as she was in charge of very young children. She was in the second Order as her kids were already teenagers for the youngest and in Hogwarts most of the time. Bill was born in 1970, Charlie in 1972, Percy in 1976, the Twins in 1978. (Source : HP lexicon.)

Tonks was not either, she must have been a child during the first Order as she's only a few years older than Harry et al. According to the HP lexicon, she was born around 1973. She was not even 10 when Voldemort "disappeared" in 1981.
