-----------Esme Point of view-------------------- I stared down at the tiny infant in my arms. He was perfect. When he was awake, his eyes where a beautiful चॉकलेट brown. His hair was a soft caramel. His hands were like tiny गुलाबी starfish. My little baby, Thomas Carlisle Evenson.
He was Thomas after my best friend. Carlisle after the God-like doctor who fixed my broken leg many years पूर्व who I have never managed to forget, and Evenson. My last name. Charles' last name.
I sighed. Charles had been less than enthusiastic when he learned I had become pregnant. I was like a माउस through the pregnancy. If charles were to get made and beat me.... I couldnt let that happen.
Thomas' eyes flikered open. His dear little eyes fixed on mine as he wraped his tiny hand around my finger. I bend my head down and kissed his forhead. I loved my little son so much.
"Esme, is my रात का खाना ready?" Charles' voice echoed through the house. I quickly laid Thomas down in his cot and hurried downstairs.
"Almost, love. It just needs a minuet और to simmer", I winced as I कहा love. I hated Charles.
"If आप spent half as much time in the रसोई, रसोईघर as आप do with that brat upstairs then रात का खाना would be ready an घंटा ago!" Charles voice rose to a yell as he finished the sentance. I tryed to stay calm because if I put one step out of line Thomas could suffer. I no longer cared for myself, just my beautiful son.
"If I didn't tend to Thomas then he would cry and I know how much आप hate that." I replyed as calmly as I could.
"Babies, I hate them. Lock them in a school until they are old enougth to behave. Thats my opinion." Charles said, from his सीट in the dinning room.
I was shaking with rage. How dare he talk abuot our baby, our son, like that! I stiffled my anger as I brought the रात का खाना in.
"What is this?" Charles asked.
"Beef Wellington" ,I replyed.
Charles snorted.
"Since when have आप learned to cook beef properly?"
"When आप were away in the army I practiced" I replyed.
"Esme, आप have never been able to cook properly" Charles said.
"Yes Sir" I कहा quietly.
The rest of the रात का खाना was spent in silence. I thought that the beef wascooked rather well but Charles kept throwing me dirty looks so I dicded never to cook beef again.
About an घंटा after dinner, Thomas started crying. Charles looked at me in annoyance.
"Go shut him up" he said.
I was already running up the stairs. I picked Thomas up and shushed him. I sat on the बिस्तर and tryed to brest feed him but he wouldnt accept any. I frowned: It was time for his feed. I put that thought aside. Maybe he wasn't hungry.
--------------LATER THAT NIGHT--------------------
Thomas woke Charles and I. He was bawling at the चोटी, शीर्ष of his lungs. I ran to him and took him to the batth room and calmed him down. Again I tryed to best feed him but I wouldnt work. I stayed in the bathroom for another half घंटा until Thomas fell asleep. I carried him back to is पालना and went back to bed. I was worried. Thomas had never refused to feed before. I resulved to take him to the docters if there was no improvement. Warey from my thoughts, I fell asleep.
