Women should wear makeup how ever they want. “Presentable” and “not lazy” where tf did that come? (Yes I’m living under a rock).

^ My sister worked at a restaurant that had makeup as part of the dress code for women. I worked in an office for a while that required it. The dress code was phrased something like; "employees must appear presentable with clean clothes, good hygiene. Women must wear makeup up and males must be clean shaven."

What are they gonna do if e.g. their employee is bad with make up and in the end turns out to look much worse with it than they would without it? Thankfully I haven't encountered such rules for dress code in any workplace so far, but it's sad that it's even a possibility. In no way natural face should be deemed to look unprofessional.

If someone (female or not) doesn’t like makeup, they shouldn’t be expected to wear it. If our natural faces aren’t enough for you, then that’s your loss.

Exactly tho. Like not wearing makeup doesn’t automatically = lazy or dirty.

Like I put effort into making sure I shower regularly, smell clean, brush hair (ehhh sometimes lol), and shave whenever it gets itchy af. So in that sense, yes, I do keep myself maintained, but not to such an obsessive degree like most businesses “suggest” we do. By “suggest”, I mean “You either do it our way or you’re fired af”.

@Shadow Yeah, I would agree that a person should have good hygiene, showers and what not. But at the same time, homeless people who a trying to get jobs need somewhere to start. But if you've got the money (and time) pls shower lol.

Well, yeah, true. I just meant like on an everyday basis, not solely for job interviews. But I agree, because I understand that homeless people more than likely won’t have access to showers.

That's fair. Yeah, it's just generally harder for poor/homeless people to get out of it because you can't buy stuff like showers without a job and apparently it's hard to get a job if you don't have regular access to a shower.
