Trump puts Bannon on national security council, dropping highest military and intelligence officials

Just to illustrate how messed up this is:

The Joint Chief and Director of National Intelligence will only be called in on an "as-needed" basis. This means when the president is making critical national security decisions, he may not be aware of all intelligence collected. This also means that the leadership of the intelligence community may be unaware of what the national security apparatus is planning or executing. Instead of these people, the guy that ran a far-right news/commentary website with ties to white supremacy will sit in on every national security decision.

It makes you wonder: what could the National Security Council possibly discuss that is not relevant to the responsibilities and expertise of the intelligence community and the military? And then you realise, the question should be posed differently: what would a white supremacist like Steve Bannon bring to table at these meetings that the intelligence community and the military would object to?

The hypothetical answers are terrifying.

I'd like to see how anyone could defend this.
