Proverbs 22:13-15 and child "beating"
"Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. Foolishness is bound in the दिल of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."
Truthfully, this disturbs me a lot. Whether या not the bible is fiction या fact, asserting that children hit with a rod will not die is... absurd and immoral. It is a carte blance to grievious bodily harm.
Adding that, very often, people in a rage have serious difficulties controlling themselves, and the slippery slope of condoning the beating of fellow human beings, I'd say spanking is completely unjustifiable.
Let us say that from spankings we go to beatings and then outright torture, where does it end? Because according to the bible, kids don't die from a "beating", which it does not define what a beating is. So I could define it as torture for misdeeds and say that the bible condones torturing children. Now is this moral for whatever reason? Is the benefits from this course of action outweighing the downsides?
