he is possibly one of the worst actors of our time.

I don't really have anything against him, but...I just can't see him as Spike. Just. No.

In all fairness, keanu Reeves does tend to play rather wooden expression-less characters! And other then indiference, spike doesn't show alot of émotion! Christian Bale might be a good choice too but i think that if keanu Reeves can't pull it of then no one can! And anyway, shinichiro watanabe is directing it... And if there is any hope for an anime to be made into a decent live-action it's if it gets directed by the same Guy who directed the anime!
Speaking of witch... Shinichiro watanabe was a special guest at the japan expo in Paris (France) a couple of weeks ago And i've put an autographed DVD of cowboy bebop the movie (also directed by him - obviously, if he signed it! LOL) for sale on e-bay!

I don't know why everyone's being so anti-Reeves here. He's a good actor; did a good job in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and an even better job in The Matrix.

Honestly I would much rather see Keanu play the role than Christian Bale. Bale is a good actor, but he doesn't fit the look. Both Keanu and Spike have a slender, cleanshaven look and Christian tends toward a more rugged look which just doesn't work for Spike.

UM he's not a good actor. In Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure he was required to be a bad actor. So that's okay. And that movie is awesome. But Matrix- he was kind of mediocre.

He's far too a shallow actor to play Spike. He's deep and awesome and Keanu will try to make him an action hero instead of a relatable character. Ahhh!!!! NOT KEANU FOR THIS PART!!!!!!!

Nothing in his past shows Keanu can pull off a believable Spike...

I think Spike is hot and I think Keanu is hot, so my feeling is, two hotties for the price of one!

I can't stand Keanu as an actor and I can't see him as Spike.

Keanu is Eurasian(part white, part asian) making his outward appearance perfect for the part however I always perfer cartoon movies over the live action ones.

I liked him in Constantine.

I guess it kind of fits his character pretty well

None of these people people keep coming up with will be able to handle the characters, they're way too lively for them and if none of these people make movies of trying to keep the adversities zealous, they wouldn't be able to do any of them.

Keanu is similar to Spike; looks like him, but he can't power up his virtue. And I really don't want that movie made... it will totally ruin the essence and beauty of Cowboy Bebop and everyone will start to act just like the actors that would be in the movie.
