I like Tzipporah when she isn't being all "NO MAN WILL DOMINATE ME!!" but Miriam is better. So kind and inspiring!

I love them both. They're both great characters. They have a lot of inner strength, loving hearts, indomitable wills, etc.

I guess I just like Miriam slightly more because of how she never gives up on Moses, and how she will not be silenced. She tells him of his parentage, and will not let Aaron or Moses cow her into being quiet. When she sees the slave-driver whipping the old man, she yells, "Somebody has to stop this!" When Moses returns years later and most of the Hebrews have turned against him, she stands behind him and encourages others to do the same.

Tzipporah's alright but really forgettable to me. She's basically discount Jasmine, like a lot of other animated girls in the 90s, and they didn't give her a backstory or anything plot-relevant to do.

Not many animated movies have heroines like Miriam. She's strong in a deeper and more interesting way. She takes stereotypically "weak" things - compassion, faith, familial love - and does radical and transformative things with them. And does it in ways that matter to the story. She's actually one of the first really consequential animated siblings: before Nani, before Tadashi, before Anna and Elsa, Miriam did it.

So, yeah, Miriam hands-down. She's kind and wise and brave, and also super important. Not to knock Moses, but I've always felt that she's the real hero in that movie.
