Chapter 16

Brennan woke with a start. At first, she thought it was all a dream, but then the person beside her moved. Booth opened his eyes and stretched. Brennan lay her head on his chest, carful to avoid putting too much pressure on his cuts.
His hand wrapped around her waist. He was relaxed until Brennan said,
“Booth?”
“Mmmmm?”
“What time was Genevieve meant to be back?”
“Uhoh.” They both sat up. Brennan leaned over Booth and pulled a piece of clothing off the digital clock.
“It’s seven. She left at about five, so she should be back द्वारा now.”...

Booth waltzed into Brennan's office and leaned casually against the door. His breath caught in his throat as he saw how the flourescent light glanced off of her sleek nut-brown hair. She didn't notice him standing there, too wrapped up in what she was looking at on her computer. Booth snapped himself out of his reverie. What was he doing? He couldn't have her. Monday morning, bright and early, Brennan entered the Jeffersonian Institute.
