Writer Charlie Brooker took home the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special, Sunday night for his juggernaut episode of
“This is terrifying,” the actor demurred before thanking Netflix and “San Junipero” actors Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, and Denise Burse. “Owen [Harris] who did such a wonderful job directing San Junipero making me look much cleverer than I am.”
The series’ creator also shouted out his co-producer, who apparently doubted Brooker would win. “Annabelle, my co-show runner told me I wouldn’t win in a supportive psychologically healthy kind of way.”
