juicyjossy9 I was not a child anymore when I got introduced to this wonder; I actually lived it with my then 8-year-old child… The irony of this particular episode of my life is that it was not my daughter who identified to it, but me. So much that it was a big chunk in the turning point of my life. I was given the real “meaning of beauty”. Or was it the “beauty of its meaning”? Beauty is a matter of interpretation. Beauty is in the eyes of the one who sees through them. When we become bored and tired of what we see, it’s probably because we lost the time to take the time to “see”, so that we can follow the fast flow pace, allowing us more and more time “just to look”. This story humbled me by making me realize that I could not learn a thing I genuinely thought I already knew… It did that just by letting me tune my eyes, my ears and my heart to its whispers. This is when I saw the beauty in ugly. And this is when I understood why and how I flew into love 38 years ago – not fell in … I felt like a feather, I could only fly! “It is wrong to think that love comes from long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment, it will not be created for years or even generations.” ~ Khalil Gibran Toby, you will now understand why I share entirely your passion for this movie. I understand very well why you could secretly wish to experience this feeling of falling (or flying?) in love this way: through a slow pace in which you could just take the time to “see” the love growing between you and your partner and its message “to love someone for what’s in their soul and not for their outward appearance” and because you think “that is an important lesson that everyone could learn from and take to heart.” I have a strong feeling that someday reading you will be for many people, of course including me, the little warm path to follow for a much better place. Toby, you already succeeded; it is only a matter of letting the world know about it. You did an awesome job! You’re a genius of the heart. Mine, as a child, as a woman, as a mother and as a granny, really needed this today. Thanks for posting this. Your parents and your friends should be very proud and happy of breathing around you.
