It had been a year.

He grazed his hand along her collarbone and groaned. She smiled, leaned her forehead on his, and looked up at him. He leaned in for another किस but she jumped up so suddenly, she sent him on his back, looking dazed up at her.

"I guess you'll have to catch me first," she squealed and rushed off.

He smiled to himself, thrilled that he could finally call her his but disappointed that no one was around to see it. Ryan had died. He had died the same time Jasper had supposedly died. Jasper had told Sophie himself. He had always believed that Alice would always be the first person to go to, but Sophie seemed like the right thing. Ryan had died. She didn't deserve to hear it over some megaphone.

"Hey!" Alice's chirp called again. "You coming या do I have to catch myself?"

He chuckled to himself, reminding himself once और how lucky he was, leaped up and ran after her.

No matter what happened, no matter how much heartbreak waited for them, Jasper knew at least one thing for certain:
