Ever since Good Charlotte teased new music last week, pop punk fans have been anxiously awaiting their return - and that includes 5 Seconds of Summer.

"Hallelujah! The pop-punk gods," 5SOS drummer Ashton told us at Radio 1\'s Teen Awards.

"I\'d like to go and see a show of theirs. I hope it goes well. They have a lot of fans waiting for them to come back - such as us."

5SOS actually worked with Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte on both their debut record and recent album

"It was great," Michael said. "Even if we weren\'t writing with them, just to have them around was a really positive force in our lives."

Meanwhile, the group are dominating charts worldwide with their new album, making them the third Aussie act to simultaneously top the charts in the UK, the US and Australia.
