'Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!'
I moaned and pawed at the snooze button. "One और minute," I moaned.
Something landed on my stomach. "Oof!" I sat up. My dog, Angus, looked up at me, his head cocked.
I moaned, pulled myself out of bed, and yanked open my drawer.
The only things I had were too-small, wrinkled jeans, a black T-shirt with a rip up the front, and something lacy that I was pretty sure belonged to my sister, Carrie. Anything else was too thick, too thin, या something my grandmother gave me.

"They're really gross, D.J.," Carrie said.
I choked on the disgusting, large bite of granola bar, spitting it into the wrapper and throwing it away. "Maybe आप could have told me that before I took a bite," I said.
Carrie stood up. "There's our bus, D.J. No, stay here, Lara, आप still go to elementary school. आप ride a different bus."
Me and Carrie walked out the door and clambered onto the bus.

The girl looked up and saw me watching her. Her pale blue eyes flashed with uncertainty for a moment, then the corners of her mouth lifted in a hesitant smile. She turned back to her book.
At that moment, I knew I was in love.
