I honestly despise the Jacob hate, there's absolutely no need for it, unless someone wants to upset all the Jacob fans, if not keep that person should keep it to themselves, it's doing no good.

i really liked him in the first book, then the second book, he was still sweet and i liked him, and i even understood his anger in the end. finally in the third book, he still made me happy, i enjoyed him...*SPOILER* until he kissed Bella the first time, then i got pissed, i didn't REALLY hate him until he tricked Bella into kissing him... he's an ass and i hope he dies!!! that's why, no offence to anyone who took this the wrong way

I kind've started hating Edward after I began reading New Moon, but then I got annoyed with Jacob after reading Eclipse, but I like both too much to actually hate them.

I'm reading new moon for the first time now, and i realize i don't really care about jacob black everytime i am reading it i always find my self searching throught the book and saying in my head
"When does Edward come back, or when does Edward do that speaking in her head bit." Also In New Moon I kind of start to hate Bella i see from the first book too the second thats shes really frisky lol and depends on Edward and Jacob too much but instead she should depend on herself like she did in twilight.

i hate him. he just gets in the way of everything. he refused to believe bella could actually love a vampire instead of him. i mean jacob thinks edward is a monster but he's a monster he just refuses to believe it. he's in denial about a lot of things...which makes me hate him so much more

he can be annoying at time but when he is being a good friend he is sweet and funny. then there is times when he can infuriate me.

I agree with almost everyone that basically says he is a nice werewolf, but he just needs to get over Bella. I don't hate Jacob. I just find it so infuriating that he thinks that Bella is one and all that. IF Bella was the one he would have some how imprinted on her. He needs to get of his depression and imprint on some one else.
Though I probably have made it sound like I hate Jacob, but I don't. He means well and he did help Bella through a rough time. He also can be kinda sweet when he isn't being a jerk so.

In this situation, I think hate is a bit of a strong word. A little while ago, I might have said yes, but I can't help but feel a tiny bit of sympathy for him. He's so desperately n love with Bella, but Bella doesn't feel the same way at all (Which makes me happy :P). So I really dislike Jacob, but not hate.

i love jacob! or well not like that, but you know. I think hes amazing. maybe he can get annoying, and yes, he isnt as charming and beautiful and mysterious and perfect as edward. but he's still a nice person. and why does everyone have to compare him to edward anyway? he helped bella through really rough times and pretty much brought her back to planet earth after edward left.

I dont know why people hat Jacob so much, he's actually the most cutest character ever, well to me. In the first book, I have to admit that he seemed like one of those desperate,sophomor whos in love with a senior you know ? but in New Moon, he just turn REALLY sweet, and like more MATURE that the fact that he's two years younger didnt really matter anymore. Then in Eclispes thats when some people had a reason to hate Jacob, because of course he kissed her, but like what else would you expect him to do? HE LOVES HER, he can't just give up, so I dont really blame him. Besides Bella loves him too, and he loves Bella, but shes still with Edward so I htink he deserves that kiss, it was his slight happiness.

I HATE JACOB!!! Because if he really loves Bella then he would just back off and let Edward and Bella be together and let them be happy! But he doesn't and he kissed Bella in Eclipse!! Geez!! To everybody who hates Jacob, think about it this way. If Jacob had never been there, One-Bella wouldn't have tryed cliff diving, Edward wouldnt think she was dead, go to Italy etc. Two-She might not have been able to handle it and she might have actually killed herself. I LOVE Edward and Bella together but I think Jacob actually got them closer together. It shows just how much Bella loves Edward that she loves Jacob but she has NEVER considered him because of her love for Edward. I think Jake is sweet and Im still hoping he finds a girl to imprint on!

I don't totally hate Jacob because I know what it's like to be in love with someone who loves someone else its gut-wrenching so I feel for him. And with that said I do think that he needs to back off and let Bella be happy because if he does truly love her then he will only want her to be happy and Edward makes her happy and whole!! And he also needs to not be so immature I think Jacob is a great character in the book because he makes a good friend to bella(when he's not pissing her off) and without him the books would be laxing a whole dimension!!!

I liked Jacob in the first book, when he was shy and cute in a little brother way, but when he discovered he was a werewolf, he became an arrogant jackass who can't control himself. He cannot get over the fact that Bella and Edward belong to together, and that Bella loves a vampire over him. He is cocky, and needs to take himself out of Bella's life so she can be happy with Edward, and not have to worry about whether Jacob would have been a better choice.

i totally disagree with cowgirlfromhell. of course there's reason to hate jacob. also, there's no reason for the jacob fans to even be around. he's BARELY in the first book so you can't like him to the point that you'll actually go out and read the next book. i'm so utterly confused as to how this whole werewolf thing got started. its nuts.
as for why jacob deserves all this hatred:
he's manipulative. he guilts bella, tries to convince her that she loves him, and is always getting way too touchy feely when she doesnt like it and she's told him already that they're not going to get together. yes, in new moon he was a great friend. but once edward came back and she made it clear that he was the one she wanted he should have backed off. thats what a real friend would do. and if he really loved her that's exactly what he would do. he would let her be happy with edward.

There is no foundation to hate such a wonderful character. I cannot possibly think of a good reason to hate him. Dislike, I can somehow perceive, but hate? I don't understand it in the least.

And edcullenism, he didn't understand that Bella and Edward were meant(?) to be together? Why do you think he wanted Bella to see she had options? Because he loved her and thought that Edward was going to be the death (figuratively or literally) of her.

Perhaps manipulative wasn't the right word. Controlling would be better. (By the way, don't get me wrong, I also love Edward, it just annoys me that some people can't see his flaws)

For example, in Eclipse, Edward tries to stop Bella from seeing Jacob. “I’ll stop you.” he says. Implying he'd use force to stop her from seeing her best friend. And then he breaks whatever that was on the truck.

Oh and actually, he is manipulative. Their engagement was basically just a 'I won't have sex with you/change you unless you marry me.'

I don't hate Jacob Black as a character. But I dislike that he manipulates Bella to kiss him. He manipulates her by using, his pain over her choosing Edward. He knows how much making her choose hurts her, but still continues to make her question her feelings for Edward. He was basically setting himself up for a lost cause because she would never love him the way she loved Edward. She basically said that herself. Meanwhile, Bella should have kissed Jacob to keep him alive. I would have did it honestly. If that's what it took to save a friend. Also, I would have to disagree about Bella seeming to be a character that depended on either Jacob or Edward. She needed Edward in her life, true. But after she lost him, at least she tried to survive in any way possible. She even flipped out on her parents to stay in Forks. Jacob just came into her life at that point, when she was on the "rebound". He was her sunshine to brighten up the murky waters and he was that best friend she needed. She told him what he needed to hear, that she couldn't love him the way he wanted her to. That she didn't love him that way. He was pushing her in that direction, by force literally. And that wasn't cool by any standards. Think about it: If she wouldn't even date Mike, why would she settle for Jacob? Neither even came close to how Edward made her feel.

I don't really hate him, but he does really annoy me. He can be cruel to Bella, and nice to her at the same time. I think that it was wrong of him to try to break up Edward and Bella, knowing how much Edward meant to her. And I also hated how he blackmailed Bella into kissing him! That made me really dislike him, I also think that he is rude and has no manners towards Edward, when Edward is very kind to him.
Plus, for most people, the only reason that they like Jacob is because Edward left Bella and he really hurt her, but they must not realized that Jacob also hurt Bella repetitively.
