For his travels, the actor kept his look casual, sporting a baggy red tee and loose-fitting beige trousers.

During a recent interview with Esquire magazine, Tom addressed rumours that he and his Mad Max: Fury Road co-star Charlize Theron did not get on during shooting of the blockbuster reboot in 2012.

Incognito: Although Tom\'s makeover made it difficult enough for onlookers to identify him, the actor decided to make it even harder by hiding his eyes underneath a pair of dark shades

He admitted: \'I have a reputation for being difficult - and I am. I am actually. But I\'m not unreasonable. It used to be that if somebody hurt me I\'d lash out a bit, in order to get them to stop. It ultimately comes from fear. If I cause enough of a mess, then people will never ask me again to do something I don\'t want to do. But that sort of backfires after a while so you don\'t want to do that. You grow up.\'

The actor also said he\'s also growing up when it comes to his work/life balance. The star married Peaky Blinders actress Charlotte Riley last year, and has a seven-year-old son, Louis, from a previous relationship.

\'I\'m 37, how f**king mega-famous can I get at 37? Anything else that gets in the way of [mine and my family\'s life] goes first,\' he admits of his priorities. \'I don\'t say that lightly. Because I\'m financially secure enough to say that, within my means.\'

However, that doesn\'t mean Tom isn\'t taking on some major new roles though. As well as his lead in this summer\'s blockbuster Mad Max, there\'s also The Revenant.

Birdman\'s Oscar winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu has taken on the challenge of adapting Michael Punke\'s novel for the big screen. Starring Tom, Leo and Star Wars actor Domhnall Gleeson, it tells the true story of Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio), an American fur trapper and frontiersman in the early 1800s who made a 200-mile trek back to civilization to find the men who left him for dead.

Despite an Academy Award winning filmmaker being attached, it took his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio to persuade him to sign up.

\'I shamelessly don\'t read scripts,\' Tom admits to Esquire. \'But Leo called me up and said, "Dude, you have to check this out, I think it\'s a brilliant piece and Alejandro\'s a genius — will you read it?"\'

Admitting that he only read \'half of it. Because Leo told me to do it,\' Tom added that he was still sceptical until he met Alejandro. \'"All right then, we\'ll meet this genius and we\'ll see," I said. "But until then I\'ll be sitting watching Come Dine with Me with the dog." When I met Alejandro, it turned out he\'s f**king funny. Really lovely. Inspiring. Potty.\'
