HUNTINGTON, W. Va (WSAZ) -- Iconic rockers KISS and their KISS Army invaded the SMG Managed Big Sandy Superstore Arena for the last stop on the FREEDOM to ROCK Tour and played to a sold out crowd.

More than 6,100 tickets were sold for the high-energy tour that has not been in the venue for 28 years.

Fans began filling the plaza up to two hours before the show and learned that not only was it a sold out show, but it was the highest grossing show on the 40 city Freedom to Rock tour.

General Manager of the Big Sandy Superstore Arena, Rik Edgar, said the show was a huge success.

“We’d like to thank NS2, Frank Productions and C Moore Live and everyone involved for bringing the KISS Freedom to Rock Tour to our city. Our phenomenal fans combined with an absolutely fantastic night of Rock and Roll, Pyrotechnics and amazing special effects made memories that will last a lifetime, this was a special night.”

“The Big Sandy Superstore Arena and the city as a whole expect to set standards that have never been accomplished before,” Mayor Steve Williams said. “It’s embracing being known as America’s Best Community.
