Kingdom is an American sports drama television series about the world of MMA that is currently airing on the DirecTV’s channel Audience Network in the United States. It was created and written by Byron Balasco who also executive produces the show together with Bart Peters, Chris Long, Tim Iacofano, Philippe Maigret and Tom Garrigus. The sports drama is produced for DirecTV by Endemol USA. Season 1 of the series debuted on Audience Network on October 8, 2014.

The plot of the series is set inside the world of Mixed Martial Arts. The story takes place is Venice, California and follows Alvey Kulina (played by Frank Grillo) and his girlfriend Lisa (played by Kiele Sanchez) who run an MMA gym together. The show also stars Matt Lauria, Jonathan Tucker, Nick Jonas and Joanna Going.

Season 2 of Kingdom premiered on the DirecTV’s Audience Network channel in the US on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT and it will consist of 10 one-hour episodes. The show has been very well received by the audience and on IMDB it currently has a rating of 8.3 out of 10. The show also airs on in Canada on Bravo, in Australia on FX and in New Zealand on SKY Movies Action. Way before the current season started airing in the US, DirecTV renewed the MMA drama series for a third season, which will also consist of 10 episodes and will be released in 2016.
