During tonight’s primetime special, ‘The Story of

: Making An Animated Classic,’ the Walt Disney Company outlined future plans for the franchise, confirming some long withstanding rumors as well as brand new information on how the company plans on building on the successes of the wildly popular film, in addition to the already confirmed Broadway musical production, Disney On Ice’s

on Ice and the upcoming book series from Random House.

is a series of brand new animated short which features the entire

cast with an all new song. The short is titled ‘Frozen Fever’ and will debut in spring 2015. In

, it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.

Disney has made no announcement on what the short will be attached to at this point. While many are speculating it may be attached to

, this could be a hint at the inevitable 3D Blu-ray release of

, which would have been released in October prior to announcement of the Sing-Along Edition DVD.

co-directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck also took the opportunity to field questions from fans on Twitter, revealing many behind-the-scenes facts including the following:

Many pages were written on the origins of Elsa’s powers but at the end of the day, it wasn’t what the film’s message was
