Aladdin and the King of Thieves on the other hand is the only Disney Sequel I kind of enjoyed. It is a great finale for the animated show, it explores a part of the live of Aladdin without destroying his character and the performances are pretty good. Even the animation has a decent level.
As said before, this one is a disgrace to the Cinderella story.
King of thieves is my favorite Disney movie <33
King of Thieves had great songs, wonderful writing, an exciting adventure, a well-done father and son relationship that clearly has its problems that do get worked out, we get to see Aladdin and Jasmine get married, the villain (While not nearly as good and memorable as Jafar and the other villains from the TV series) was a worthy follow up to Jafar, Robin Williams is back as the Genie and is HILARIOUS as always, and is the perfect conclusion to both the TV series and the franchise. However, I don't think it's as good as A Twist in Time and not just because of the terrible animation because I don't judge the quality of an animated movie only by the animation. The villain is good but not really too memorable, none of the forty thieves really had much to them aside from being thieves and one personality trait, the forty thieves that joined the villain never really find out that he lied to them and just betrayed their leader that was always loyal and fair to them, Jasmine's role is really reduced (Though she's still pretty awesome), and I really didn't like that Iago left with Cassim. I know that last part might sound like a nitpick but here's the thing. They had established such a strong friendship within this group dynamic that it just irked me that they had Iago leave just like that. We've seen all of them go through so much together throughout the movies and the TV show and I just don't like them being separated. Also, why can't the Sultan just pardon Cassim for his crimes? He decided to get rid of the stupid law about how only a prince can marry a princess with the explanation "Well, am I Sultan or am I Sultan?" just like that. I think that he can pardon Cassim after he and Aladdin reconciled in the end so that he could live in the palace with them. I mean, he just found his son after all these years and after a few days with him decided to leave for good. What the hell? If I was in his shoes, I'd decide to stay with my son and try to make up for old times by being there for him now.
As for A Twist in Time, it had amazing animation that looks even better than the original, a good soundtrack (Minus that awful Perfectly Perfect song), shows that Cinderella does know when to take action and how strong she can be (Even though I've always thought she was really strong), the mice were funny at times and didn't take over the movie like in the original, Charming is actually given a three-dimensional and enjoyable personality, the King is shown as more than just some hothead obsessed with getting his son married and having grandchildren, Anastasia is absolutely amazing (I even wrote an article analyzing just what an amazing character she is and why Disney chose to redeem her and not Drizella), Cinderella and Charming have great chemistry, Lady Tremaine is even more evil than she was in the original, the action is exciting, it's suspenseful, the relationship between Anastasia and the King is unique and heartwarming, and I love the relationship between Anastasia and Cinderella.
