"Amidst the shock of the finale, my fear was immediately for Dexter. Whenever a murder occurs, the first suspect is ALWAYS the spouse. I see a potential plotline that puts Dexter as the prime suspect in Rita's death, especially since he was so clearly coming unraveled right up to the murder. He also contaminated the crime scene, which is understandable because he was so shocked, but also could be used against him. Dexter doesnt have an alibi because he was murdering and disposing of Arthur right before he found Rita. If you consider Quinn's suspicions that Dexter had been cheating on Rita, probably cause starts to form. I think it would be an exciting plotline to have them suspect Dexter, since he really is a killer, and this just happens to be the one murder he didn't actually commit."

Yup, you guys aren't the only ones, I was thinking that too. Plus the bombshell Deb 'dropped' on him (ie. he was the icetruck killer's brother) and there are a lot of reasons to suspect him.

But I'm glad Rita died. She always annoyed me, even though she was necessary to the show and I think this opens up a whole lot of possible interesting storylines. Can't wait for season 5!

i'm not so worried because it follows the partern of trinity (bathtub killing) so i think they'll see it wasn't Dexter.

That is true, but Debra is suspicious of how Dexter beat them to Arthur's house when the raided it. Will she connect the dots?
