BUT I think that, even though Elena's 18, he's some sort of adult/parental figure Jeremy and Elena have now and Alaric is really affectionate to them so I think he'd also be a little "worried" about Elena if she turned out to be dating Damon. I mean, Alaric knows how Damon is and all and he cares for Elena so maybe we could see some kind of overprotective attitude from Ric.
