has never been what one would call a chill experience. Every week, almost each and every member of the ensemble is continually on the chopping block; at any moment, anyone could be devoured by zombies, or murdered by threatening forces both inside as well as outside of the Alexandria safe zone. Season 6 started off with a serious bang, but according to sources very close to the show, namely Norman Reedus, we havent seen anything yet.
Norman Reedus everyones favorite redneck Daryl Dixon discussed with Variety how the second half of
Season Six is arguably the most gripping batch of episodes ever produced for the series:
I want to say that our back half is the best 8 weve ever done. Its super intense. Throughout the interview, Reedus likened the momentum of
Season 6 to that of an arrow being pulled back by an archer. Kicking off with the hectic premiere, the show has slowly been ramping up tension and stakes week after week, gaining dramatic momentum as it propels itself forward. Some weeks have been slower than others in terms of raw zombie action and body count, but each week ramps up the intensity as the threat of The Wolves, the massive walker herd, and other lesser-known threats become more and more apparent.
is not the only topic that Reedus covered during the interview. To call him an interesting fellow would be the understatement of the century. He elaborated on his hobby as a photographer, as well as his upcoming series
will take Reedus passion for motorcycles which he shares with his fictional counterpart Daryl Dixon and show him riding through a new part of the United States every week. The upcoming release of
will get so intense that Daryl may not be around too much longer to ride his motorcycle and rescue survivors. Check out the video interview below.
All that being said, we still have to get through the first half of Season 6 as well as the midseason break before we can truly get a sense of what Reedus means when he talks about how intense the back eight will be.
airs every Sunday night on AMC at 9PM EST, and will return for the final eight episodes on Sunday, February 14.
