 Erik and Christine.
Erik and Christine.
Hi guys, I'm going to compare the original novel and the stage musical that popularise the former.

The Novel

When I first read the book, I was taken aback about how the story was different from the musical. It starts with Joseph Buquet's mysterious death, which was officially ruled as a suicide.
Raoul was a very unlikable character in the novel unlike the musical counterpart, he is always angry with Christine and his relationship with Philippe, his elder brother was really explosive due to disapproval over his relationship with Christine.
Erik still remains the same and in the novel, he's also...

All right.

So Tumblr has been crazy with this in the last few weeks since Sierra Boggess has left the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera on September 6th. A rather short run, so to say: she did start only on May 14th…

I wasn’t going to write anything about this at first. But now, rumor has it Sierra Boggess has stated that her 2014 run in Broadway was going to be the last time she would play Christine.

Cough cough.

Ha.

Of course.

Bullshit. Bullshit bullshit bullshit bullshit bullshit. BULLSHIT.

Everyone knows Sierra is Cameron Mackintosh’s and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s darling....

चोटी, शीर्ष 10 reasons for why Erik/Christine doesn’t work.

Yes, I know I was supposed to प्रकाशित करे my प्यार Never Dies rant before, but… this is really to help me write it.

So, short story. Before coming on Fanfiction, I already knew that almost everyone on Earth were E/C shippers. But I was still shocked of seeing the ridiculous number of E/C authors, especially that there are very good ones among them. Now, I’m not being rude, it’s okay to like the E/C pairing (I guess…), but I’m just being really honest. I remember, when I entered the phandom, I was a mild R/C shipper (You know, “I prefer...

This लेख shall pertain to the 'holy trinity' of Phantom. The Leroux, Kay, and Andrew Lloyd Webber versions. The basic idea is to look at each individual portrayal of the Phantom and ascertain approximately the extent of his mental deterioration and psychosis. I will also discuss the probable causes and catalysts for these behaviours.
This is द्वारा no means a full psychoanalysis, and in the long run is only meant to calm me down with some logical thinking after a very bad week. I.E. आप don't have to like it या agree with it.
I shall begin with Leroux since that is the original perception of...

I saw The Phantom of the Opera when I was 12, and I heard the Original लंडन Cast Recording of प्यार Never Dies when I was 16. द्वारा then my life had gone through some MAJOR changes. For one thing my Dad died 2.75 months after I saw The Phantom of the Opera on stage (believe it या not) and my life was continuing to get worse, so my personality like the characters in "Love Never Dies" changed with life. What I'm trying to say is "Misery loves company" especially from close friends. When I was 13 I had read "The Phantom of Manhattan" so it was not a surprise to me when Christine died. :(!

In a class...

I actually can't see it as a sequel to any version but especially not to the film. "The true feelings of Christine and the Phantom are revealed in LND!" I'm a die-hard E/C shipper but still I genuinely react with: Fuck no. Forgive me the strong phrasing but I प्यार logic very much as well as the depth of their relationship which LND completely shits over.

Then someone comes saying LND isn't a sequel to the film but to ALW's PotO. But also that the film and the stage play are exactly the same thing. (Contradicting much?) Well, officially they are not exactly the same thing:

Andrew Lloyd Webber:...

The Haunted Mansion ride at डिज़्नी has always been one of my favourite things, and Phantom tops the सूची at #1 fave thing. And a while back I started noticing really heavy similarities between the two things and I found many of them interesting. I thought I would share these observations here, so that others might enjoy the coincidences, या homages if you'd care to take it that way.

We will begin in the Foyer. Above the fireplace hangs a portrait where a young gentleman (presumably Master Gracey) hangs. It is here that the unseen guide for the attraction first makes his presence known.

There are various interpretations of why the old Raoul brings the monkey संगीत box to her grave and some even think that all the old Raoul parts of the movie are completely useless. However, I'm one of those who believe that while the film would've worked perfectly well even without Raoul travelling anywhere with the संगीत box, all the old Raoul clips are perhaps the most essential aspect of the entire film's basic point. I think they are the ultimate aspect that drastically differs the film from the stage play.

A monkey symbolizes many things that are strongly related to the story. Essential...

I originally पोस्टेड this on IMDB's board as VampireOutlaw.

No one wanted a sequel, <-- (generally speaking), it was still made, the critiques hate it, the प्रशंसकों hate it, it keeps on having to close down...Yet it's still here?
I know it has its share of fans, but nonetheless the crucially and strongly negative reception seems to be the situation in general.

So why the bloody hell does ALW not give up? या if he can't bring himself to, why does he keep on trying with only minor changes?

~ First a sidenote:
Love Never Dies is not a sequel to the 2004 movie because that movie is Joel Schumacher's interpretation...

This is one of those reviews that you'll probably want to haul out the video and read along so आप don't get lost. It will be बिना सोचे समझे and disjointed. I'm just लेखन what I'm thinking as I think it. This is probably also going to offend....oh, well...just about everyone. This is my personal opinion. आप are entitled to yours, I just may not take it too seriously if आप cannot back up your reasoning. There are only so many things आप can use "well I just like it/hate it" as an excuse. I've been a phan for a LONG time and I've studied the story fairly hardcore. I know EXACTLY why I have most...

Tracking Down Different Versions: We had our awesome A/V Club, but that got closed because no one was on it. So…you pretty much brought it on yourself. Anyway, believe it या not, the 1925, 1962, and 1990 फिल्में are available on YouTube: link, link, and link. Also Leroux is online; I already पोस्टेड the link. Look, that’s 4 versions online for FREE! Also, some of the और common versions aren’t that hard to track down if आप know where to look. I got the 1943 version for $2.99 at Fleet Farm. And those things called...

What Annoys Me About The Phantom of Manhattan द्वारा Frederick Forsyth

All of the Leroux-bashing:

In the Preface, Forsyth repeatedly points out errors in Leroux’s novel, most of which are trivial and pointless (OMG! He कहा the chandelier was heavier than it really was! Shun Leroux!). And he keeps pointing out how Andrew Lloyd Webber “fixed” the errors, which brings me to…

Treating Andrew Lloyd Webber’s version like its perfect and the only “right” one:

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s stage दिखाना isn’t perfect. That being said, some parts of it were better in his version than in Leroux’s,...

Christine kisses Erik, who pretended to fulfill a promise, but told a devastating lie. She agrees to marry him in the book, giving up HER dreams. her COMPASSION is her STENTGH. The book was about a women's right to marry who she chooses.
"The Phantom of the Opera" is feminst Raoul follows her to her Father's grave for no reason when he says the एंजल of संगीत isn't real he is being overprotective When Christine knows the truth he is someone to go to for support. Hi everyone, it's been coming to 9 years since I watched the musical in Singapore. I have always want to write this review of the stage version since I had did a comparison on both the movie and stage version!

The Staging

I was stunned द्वारा the staging because it was such a spectacular, colourful and whimsical, I also like how each scenes represent dark & light throughout the musical. It was like bringing the realism of what it's like of Palais de Garnier, on which the story is set.
One of my major disappointments was that I did not sit in front where the dramatic chandelier came crashing...

Andrew Lloyd Webber is making a sequel to POTO,called प्यार never dies, and almost every artical that आप see on Wickapeadia,ALW's website, etc, has something that phans don't like........... THE FACT THAT HE'S MAKING ONE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!! On Phantom message boards there is one about the sequel called"THEY ARE MAKING A SEQUEL TO POTO!" And आप will find out why the story line, how the carracters will change (like one about Meg Giry being gothic), how Andrew Lloyd Webber is making the Giry's be on the bad side and want to kill Christene,( wich makes no sence at all, since the Giry's used to adore Christene), and how all of the above will make the musical crash and burn!!!!!!! While looking through the message boards आप will see टिप्पणियाँ like," ALW should burn the whole score!" and, "I won't be suprised if Phantom goes off Brodway for this..."So if आप want to learn more, आप know where to go ( THEY ARE MAKING A SEQUEL TO PHOTO! Message boards.........)
Carlotta is writen as a horrid character. She tells rumors and plans schemes to eliminate christine as her competition. I think what is often overlooked is that Carlotta is one of the so many victims of the book. From what is written आप can tell that Carlotta was extremely talented as an opera singer as the book mentions how perfect an instrument her voice was. She had the misfortune to be ill and be replaced द्वारा someone far और loved and adored than herself, that in itself is enough to make anyone mad, take a दिन of sick and your job isnt waiting for आप when आप get back. Not only was she...

THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK

Over the past two weeks, six girls have been reported missing, all with a link - a lone, scarlet rose, left at their front door the दिन after they vanished. Yet this sinister case has one too many connections with another frightening tale. The Phantom Of the Opera, the tale of Erik, an elusive inventor on the brink of madness and genius. The legendary myth tells that he haunted the ground beneath the Paris Opera House, gradually convincing Christine Daee, an innocent chorus girl that he is an एंजल her dead father sent her. The Phantom left a single rose for the girl...

A review of the libretto for Andrew Lloyd Webber's

the Phantom of the Opera in comparison with the

soundtrack for the दिखाना प्यार Never Dies. It is my

intention to go through the original script page

by page, making notations of all of the places

contradictions are apparent.

Right off the bat there is a rather

glaring error. In the libretto the stage

directions state that the auction at the beginning

of the दिखाना is taking place in 1905. This is

rather interesting as LND is set in 1907. Even

disregarding the साल as written, the auctioneer

points out that the old chandelier...

I was watching the silent Lon Chaney version of "The Phantom of the Opera" earlier on TCM, and I began to do some pondering about the many Phantom movies.

When someone thinks of The Phantom of the Opera, often there are two iconic तस्वीरें that will come to mind. One is the famous unmasking of Lon Chaney, rightfully recognized as one of the very iconic तस्वीरें of not only horror, but of cinema itself. His face makeup is taken from the original novel's विवरण of Erik, as someone with a horrible deformity from birth that gives him a terrifying corpse-like appearance.

The सेकंड iconic image...
