Can anyone reccomend me a good book?

Okay, for school we have to read 1 book of each genre.
Now I'm a giant मांगा fan, but I've read a 'graphic novel' already.
Some mangas I like are Sailor Moon, Ouran High School Host Club, and Ranma 1/2. I also like वॉचमेन and The Umbrella Academy. My प्रिय actual book is The Invention of Hugo Cabret.
NO TWILIGHT PLEASE. I don't like Twilight, The Hunger Games, Vampire Diaries, या anything like that. I also prefer older books.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

its one fo my प्रिय books..besides jack ketchums the girl अगला door. but thats a little too vivid. its based on a true story where a girls tourchured to death. but..yea i reccomend फूल in the attic.

I haven't nor have any intention of पढ़ना Harry Potter, but the Percy Jackson series is very good, and The Hours is the saddest book I've ever read, but it's pretty good.

This novel is about sulf-mutilation, and a fifteen-year-old skater who is trying to overcome this.

Believe me, neither one of these पुस्तकें will disappoint आप :)
I read one in a week, and the other in less than two days. They're that good!!!! ^_^
