Why are आप still here?

Genuinely asked द्वारा a user of 8 years.

Compared to other social media, फैन्पॉप is a rather quiet place. Surely most don't hang around in a moderate active website for the shits and giggles. Whats your peculiar reason for preferring this place over others? (Or at least making it a vital part of your social media experience)

i dont know tbh i feel empty when i am here some times its like, its nothing but sadness for me on this website its like everything "good" is gone, and all that remains is sadness and nothing to do, i am not really "constantly" active but i am and nah i am never gonna do it, i am never gonna मिटाइए my account and i hope आप will not either <3

Most of my फ्रेंड्स are on discord now so it's not that big of a deal but prior to हाल का events my फ्रेंड्स were a driving reason as to why I stayed.

In all honesty I prefer the layout of sites like tumblr and I used to be on tumblr way और but I stopped that thanks to the new ToS they rolled out last December.

I used to be a heavy user of tumblr too, but all my फ्रेंड्स got wiped out द्वारा the nsfw filter thing back in december and nothings been the same. It also doesnt help it has some rather infamous fractions too. Discord truly is the haven these days. And yay for 8 years club, i also get nostalgic simply because theres so much weird shit i used to write in my teens lol.

Also helps that it isn't full of sjw, and an overload of politics (I mean it has its moments but is tame द्वारा comparison). Same with fandom, these days fandom feuds aren't as common place and disagreements are usually और peacefully resolved on here than on most other sites I go on.

The last part resonates with me a lot. The other big social media sites has a very strong political aspect to it, even when just trying to engage in fandom fun and have some escapism. I used to प्यार tumblr until the atmosphere there became toxic, and since then its felt very hard for me to find a corner of fandom that doesnt get political somehow. Its ironic, perhaps its that theres no one to perform for on here so आप can just be yourself. 10 years is a long time! Im just curious about something: फैन्पॉप news is updates, but does anyone know who owns it? Isnt there a mod team या anything?

"even when just trying to engage in fandom fun and have some escapism." That's why tumblr drives me crazy especially as a प्रशंसक of villains who likes 'problematic' characters. Like yes, Chuck, the villain is doing villain things. The villain is not PC because the villain is busy being evil. And the ship wars in the Voltron fandom...holy cow I've seen people accused of being homophobic for liking Acxa because she got in the way of Klance >.> I also used to प्यार tumblr now I'm there for the memes and fanart. I try to stay out of the politics. Honestly yeah that's an aspect too; आप can be yourself. This is one of the few platforms where I'm not afraid to be 100% open with my opinions.

Might be included as a bit of a reason but not one of the major ones. I still have my interests in here. Staying for my फ्रेंड्स and hoarding anything of interest I can find as well as sharing it with the rest. It has become a habit visiting the place each day. Sometimes, the quietness it offers can be refreshing XD A good break from the hustle and bustle of everything else !!!!
