HELP!!! Dentist alert!

ok, so I always brush and floss my teeth regularly and the past few years my dentist कहा my teeth's not bad. UNTIL my last dentist appointment when he found out I have 2 cavities!!! He कहा he is gonna drill them. What does tht mean? Does it hurt? Im sorry if this is a stupid ques, I just never had a cavity before.
