If your दिल is telling आप this boy is the one then आप should go for it and if you're फ्रेंड्स can't be happy for आप and put their feelings aside to let आप be happy then i'm sorry but they are not true फ्रेंड्स and you're better off without him.
Just because he sings songs from the '50's and '60's and knows lines from तारा, स्टार trek (so do i - live long and prosper) doesn't make him any less of a man या a friend. It just means he's interested in different things that some people my find 'un-cool'.
To be honest if आप really प्यार this boy आप will sacrifice a few फ्रेंड्स who probably won't be around forever anyway, and sacrifice your popularity for love. A little bit of teasing won't hurt आप hun, but missing out on a chance like this could.
After all a few months from now when आप and him being a couple become old news they'll get bored and let up. Trust me, i've been through the same thing. yes it's annoying, frustrating and upsetting but when आप realise that आप stood up for yourself and what आप believed in it will all get better :)

I think that if आप truly care about him, आप should go out with him. आप प्यार him for who he is, so why should it matter what other people think? I totally understand that it really sucks to be made fun of, but आप shouldn't let other people suck आप in to the conformity of being someone who isn't really you. You've been really good friends, yes? If आप go out, the teasing may be slightly worse at first, but people will get over it soon enough.

So don't let other people's nastiness drive आप या your friend away from being happy. Ignore the nasty kids if आप can, and soon they will get bored and leave आप alone.

If they seriously tease because of who he is, they obviously aren't respectful and आप don't need people like that in your life. Just ignore them, and once they see आप couldn't give less of a care, they'll forget it and हटाइए on.

If आप प्यार him so much, then go out with him. forget what others say या think. i know im the last person to be giving प्यार advice, but if आप truely like this guy, you'll accept the fact he isn't लोकप्रिय amongst the crowd.
