'Pretty Little Liars' boss: This was the year I revealed the identity of 'A'

returns Tuesday with a five-year jump into the future, which will feature Aria, Hanna, Spencer, Emily, and Ali reuniting in Rosewood after having gone their separate ways following high school graduation. While a lot has changed over the years — Hanna’s (Ashley Benson) engaged to a new man and Aria (Lucy Hale) ditched Ezra (Ian Harding) — many things, like Spencer’s (Troian Bellisario) political aspirations, have remained the same. 

One more thing the girls can’t seem to escape: a new Big Bad who torments the Liars just like the black-hooded bullies of seasons past. Though 6A’s finale saw A’s identity revealed as Charlotte (Vanessa Ray) — Ali’s older transgender sibling better known as CeCe Drake — there’s a new tough girl (or guy) in Rosewood who has it out for the fivesome when they’re back in town for Charlotte’s trial. Unfortunately, series creator I. Marlene King has said the ambiguous “he” the Liars mention in 6A’s finale won’t be revealed until season 7, so that means fans will be suspicious of characters new and old throughout the second half of the current season.
