Truthfully speaking? I don't give the slightest damn. Many of Hp readers are neither from US nor from UK, and use a mix of both. I think I have enough brains to figure out the meanings.
What puts me off is FF writers confusing b/w:

's and s (eg: brothers vs brother's)
Normally, if the story is good, I'll ignore minor errors, but 70% of the writers there are just...

Nobody said there's no difference between UK English and American English, so saying that there is a difference isn't saying anything everyone doesn't already know.

I like the British people commenting saying "I'm from England and I use phrases that you claim no on in England uses...?" Just like I loved the Americans going "We don't say these things over here...?"

Also: what does a guide of British English have to do with the question "Which series has better grammar." Unless you're trying to say Harry Potter has better grammar because it's grammar is British and not American?

Before you take another stab at me, I'll explain: I was looking more specifically at her introduction, in relation to that pick, for example:

"When the books were published in the US by Scholastic, the books "corrected" British spelling and phrases for American readers, which I personally find appalling. If I were reading an American book, I would expect it to feature American spelling and phrases, and not to feel the need to "correct" or change them in order to placate my English sensibilities. Besides, half the joy of reading a book set in a different place or culture is to discover all those little idiosyncrasies of language, wonderful little phrases or slang. ^^But, again, what does that have to do with having better grammar? Because that's the pick you linked. Does Harry Potter have better grammar because its grammar is British? Does Harry Potter have better grammar because its grammar was 'Americanized'? Does being annoyed that things were changed mean Harry Potter has better grammar?

No. I talking about the resulting debate- we did get off topic a little- whether books should be "translated". And this relates to that. I think we conceded quite early on that neither has better grammar, so please stop biting my head off. :|
