Again, annoying as hell. It's her own fault for getting so obsessed with it. Deathly Hallows was MY favorite so...to each her own I guess.

It's her opinion. Lots of people loved the last book, and weren't at all dissapointed. HP is not a fad because fads start to fade while HP has been going strong for ten years. Also, the fans who began reading the books when they first were published are still fans now. So, no, sorry to dissapoint you - I will not "get over it."

Deathly Hallows was great. And Harry Potter has such a great plot and such interesting & lovable characters that I will never "get over it". Even now, I am still learning things about Harry Potter. JK Rowling, like the genius she is, has put so many little things in the books that it takes years to decipher it all. For example, the meanings of all the names. And did you know Harry's glasses are a metaphor for misunderstanding? And on the night Harry witnessed Dumbledore's murder, he was under cover of the Invisibility Cloak, darkness, and was wearing glasses. Many layers of misunderstanding, and Harry didn't truly understand the scene. It's things like this that make Harry Potter such a great book (and many other things besides) which is why it's impossible for me to "get over it" because you just get revelation after revelation years after finishing them.

Why would we WANT to "get over it"?

^ Exactly. I've been a fan of Harry Potter for 10 years. Like a quote that I saw somewhere: Twilight is a fad. Harry Potter is a lifestyle.

Well, Harry Potter was the first proper book I read, and if anything, they've got even more popular over these past years.

Wow this is so reminiscent of my experiance with Twilight (sans the movies of course, because they weren't out then) it's scary 0.o

I've been a die-hard HP fan for ten years. If I ain't over it by now, I ain't getting over it.

I'm not sure what this is supposed to do? It doesn't add to the debate in anyway.

This is pretty much my story, except this person was more extreme.
I got over it.
Also, I never really moved on to Twilight as an obsession.

Well for me, HP stopped really being a child's book after book two and moved on to being a book for all ages - not that I'm saying adults and teens couldn't like Philosopher's Stone or Chamber of Secrets because I LOVE them - but, you know, just my personal view and in my opinion you didn't really give the proper plots and characters a chance, then.

Hey, just a observation here, but don't all of us sound like Twihards when we say we'll never get over it? I mean, we don't say, "OMGZ LIEK TWILIGHTZ MY LIEF!!1!!11" (not all Twihards are like this btw, but a lot are), but we're basically impying it, am I right? We're saying we'll never get over it, or we've been fans FOREVER and there's no chance in hell for us to become Harry-haters...which is basically what (most) Twihards are saying, but with no grammar and misspelled words. Just a thought

Sorry, Cassie, I thought you said you stopped reading after book two. My mistake.

And youknowit, nobody goes on My Life is Harry Potter sweetie, well not most HP fans anyway. AverageWizard is the popular one because MLIHP just tries to be AverageWizard and fails; plus AW caters for other popular HP-related subjects like AVPM and AVPS and Potter Puppet Pals.

And MrsMea, I don't see what's wrong with that. Whether you love Twilight or Harry Potter, saying you'll never get over it or become a hater is a good thing, surely? It's showing your loyalty.

I don't think I'll ever get over it. Sure, as my obsession winds down as I get older I won't re-read the books as much, but I'll NEVER just snap and hate the series out of the blue. What did you expect, we're all going to detest Harry Potter after reading the article? And speaking of the article, the title and the article don't coincide. The title is implying that we'll someday get over the series, but the article is saying we should already hate the series because it's childish and the last book wasn't good. Isn't it OBVIOUS, if we seriously thought Harry Potter was childish and that the last book sucked, we would already stop being a fan of it? No, we're still fans of it, so obviously those concepts don't bother us.

I could also say the same about Twilight to Twilighters, "Don't worry, you'll get over it too". Many Twilighters admit THEY didn't like the Twilight series finale, either. To ME, I LOVED the Deathly Hallows because finally, after six long books, Harry goes on an actual quest and encounters a real fantasy adventure.

P.S. Are you even a Twilight fan? All you do is bash HP, but you never really try to defend Twilight, either.

This was kinda like me, except it was the other way around. I used to love Twilight, but then I just started to get really bored with it. I decided to give Harry Potter a chance, and it was my best move in reading so far :)

Harry Potter is a classic. Just to hate the series long after the final movie would mean that we weren't real HP fans to begin with. So even if I stop obsessing over it as much, that won't mean that I would take up hating it.
I hope my comment gives you a completely unbiased view of what to expect from the true HP fans for the future.
