As we wipe away the last few tears over Hodor\'s demise and look into the future, we have to wonder... Where can
Here\'s where we stand after the latest episode \'Blood of My Blood\' - and where in the world of Westeros (and Essos...) we might be heading next. Potential spoilers ahead...
Game Of Thrones season 6 episode 6 review: \'Blood of my Blood\' is a step back, but still fantastic
Game of Thrones: 9 things we learned from episode 6 \'Blood of My Blood\'
Arya\'s training at the House of Black and White has gone on for probably a little too long, marooning one of the show\'s most vibrant characters in a storyline that often called for her to strip away everything that made that character great - not to mention the persistently gloomy décor.
Game of Thrones: Bran\'s vision broken down
But Arya has Needle back in hand, and has made her choice. Unfortunately, that means a disappointed Jaqen has let The Waif loose, and a showdown now seems inevitable.
Given that The Waif has bested her at every single turn thus far, it\'s difficult to see how Arya will escape unscathed, given the burning intensity of The Waif\'s grudge against her. But there\'s still the sense that the story isn\'t done with Arya yet.
Would the series really kill her off in a dark corner of Braavos, leagues away from where all the real action is taking place? An escape back to Westeros would surely make more sense - although whether the Faceless would ever stop chasing is a whole other question...
\' most duplicitous and manipulative characters, Margaery Tyrell has always been difficult to read.
Not only was she savvy enough to get homosexual prince Renly on her side, but she even managed to get some measure of control over the sadistic Joffrey. So when she professes to have turned her life over to the Gods, do we really believe her?
The High Sparrow certainly does, but we\'re not so sure. The look of surprise on her face when Jaime and the Tyrells arrive to liberate her could just be because it was so unexpected, but was there also an element of annoyance there?
Had she known that she\'d be rescued, she wouldn\'t have needed to bother putting on this pious performance to get the Sparrow on side. Then again, maybe she would have anyway, as being so close to him now gives her a perfect opportunity to bring him down.
Or perhaps not - perhaps Margaery really is at one with the Gods now. Stranger things have happened...
While we haven\'t visited it yet this season, the Tully stronghold of Riverrun looks set to be key in the season\'s back half, with several groups converging there. With Brynden the Blackfish holed up in the castle, Walder Frey is sending his men to retake it - with Edmure as a hostage for leverage.
Jaime Lannister is due to lead the Lannister forces to the Freys\' aide, while on the other side of the siege, Brienne and Pod have been tasked with rescuing the Blackfish on Sansa\'s behalf.
But who will triumph? It\'s likely to come down to a battle of wills - or more? - between Jaime and Brienne, who will be reunited once again on different sides of the same war. Will Brienne turn the sword that Jaime gifted her against the man she can\'t help but care for? And if she does, will one-handed Jaime be able to stop her?
The show has spent a few episodes setting up events at Riverrun, and it seems like whatever occurs there could have huge ramifications. Could the Brotherhood Without Banners - who got name-checked this week for the first time in a long time - even get involved as a wildcard? The chances of everyone making it out of the situation alive seem slim.
Having been rescued by his long-lost Uncle Benjen, Bran is told in no uncertain terms that he must now become the new Three-Eyed Raven, since Max Von Sydow\'s incarnation of the character is now dead.
But as the episode opens, Bran\'s visions are out of control. That\'s great for us, seeing as it means we get to glimpse all manner of moments from the series\' past (and beyond), even getting to see Aerys the Mad King and the legendary moment Jaime cut him down!
But how is Bran to get his powers under control without the previous Raven to help? If only Jojen Reed were still alive, he might have been able to offer counsel, but alas, he\'s dead too. Perhaps Benjen - who seems to have an affinity with the Raven - knows more than he lets on.
As a sort of quasi-Walker - half dead and half alive - good old Uncle Benjen may become a crucial figure, not just to Bran, but to the whole war against the White Walkers.
OK, so it\'s finally going to happen, right? No fake outs this time? No distractions? No sudden changes of heart? Good? Good.
Daenerys has never been in a stronger position than she is now, with only the absence of a thousand-strong naval fleet standing in her way. She\'s got Drogon back - not to mention two other dragons back at Meereen - and she\'s got the Dothraki, the Unsullied, and Daario\'s Second Sons devoted to her. The latter sell-sword even seems to have convinced her that being a conqueror is in her very nature. She\'s ready.
More worrying for everyone else is that Westeros is most certainly
ready to host the Mother of Dragons. And that\'s what makes the prospect of Dany\'s forces arriving all the more fun.
There may not be enough time this season to actually get her back across the Narrow Sea, but if the season doesn\'t end with her at least setting off, it\'ll feel like another punch in the gut for a moment we\'ve already been waiting six seasons to witness.
