19 Things That Must Happen In Game Of Thrones Season 5

To paraphrase Melisandre herself, this list is dark and full of spoilers. It’s laced with events from A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons, so you have been warned.

Admittedly what is known of Game of Thrones’ fifth season is sparse, but tantalising nevertheless. Several characters are (somehow) returning, several new characters are joining, and several stunning story lines should be coming to fruition. If only it was possible to look into Melisandre’s fires, it would be known exactly what is to come. But the book readers know more than those who have never traversed the pages of A Song of Ice and Fire, so at least some know more than others.

This list compiles everything possible from the fifth season. Some of them are plots directly out of the novels, including a pit, a walk, and a blackout. And some of them are simply things many want to see changed from the novels. A Feast for Crows is the poorest of the five novels released thus far for a lot of reasons (politics, politics, Dornish politics) so a lot of these elements will likely be changed.

A lot of changes are expected to happen in the fifth season as the show rushes past the novels so most or none of these will occur. Read on for what to find out what must happen in season five.
