I get a bazillion friend requests on Fanpop, and without a message describing who you are (as well as where I might know you: "Fanpop"), I may not know you from Adam or Eve. I don't add people I don't recognize.

OK, since people haven't done that (for the most part), I just went through and ignored most of the random, unrecognizable requests I got on FB. The growing pile of requests and invitations was beginning to irritate me; that number in the upper right felt like I had work to do and I was shirking it.
