How come in Ellen's mother's दिन specials for her show, when the military men send their mother's दिन video messages, they're only directed for their wives?

Why aren't the military men's mothers there to get प्यार from their son in the military? I know the wives are new mothers या expected mothers but still, the mothers of the military mean deserve प्यार too!
