Dan Harmon Says The ‘Community’ Movie Will Happen And It Will Be ‘Great’
was canceled forever ago, but the series (?) finale aired on the dearly (??) departed Yahoo! Screen just over a year ago. It was a superb and — in typical
fashion — knowing episode, with the Study Group pitching what they think “season seven” will be like. Jeff imagines strangling Abed clones; Chang introduces everyone to a new character, Ice Cube Head; and the Dean has Shirley and Elroy discuss “y’know, hallelujah, and church, and singing, and street wisdom” while resting his hand on Jeff’s abs. Any of the pitches would have worked, but unfortunately, a seventh season of
season three) told Larry King that “if I pull out a typewriter right now and write a
movie just for my own heart and mind, then I have to go through the heartbreak and agony of finding out which of the people will show up to make it. On the other hand, if I wait for everyone to line up and say, we’re all out of work and ready to do a
movie, well, I guess that’s a bad idea, too.”
Harmon hasn’t given up on the second half of #SixSeasonsAndAMovie, though. “It’ll make a great movie,” he said. “It’ll happen.” If Harmon needs a premise, he should check out Larry King’s Twitter. Some solid ideas in there.

"Dan Harmon Says The ‘Community’ Movie Will Happen And It Will Be ‘Great’"
I am really glad that Justin Roiland is there to reel Dan back on Rick and Morty so that we don’t get full frontal Harmon, because Community really wasn’t this shining beacon of apex television that the Internet said it was for like 6 months.
Man those first three seasons were just great. I stuck it out and even really enjoyed the addition of Keith David and Paget Brewster because those two are.fantastic in everything. There were just so many cast changes and Jeff went so dark towards the end that it wasn’t as much.fun. The G. I. Joe episode still remains a standout achievement though. That hit all the right notes for me. When Duke asks Jeff “What do boobies feel like?” I laughed for a solid five minutes.
OP’s getting 1 Meow Meow Bean for that opinion.
Show was fantastic. It really was a perfect storm show. If you weren’t in its target demos and you weren’t watching it and going through the ebb-and-flow of cancellation it wouldn’t have meant as much to you.
It’s art that exists in its own circumstances, timeless in a way that it captures the angst and ennui of a particular sort of person but not something that will be able to be understand by all peoples at all times.
Still, it got a good run and doesn’t need a movie. It ended fine.
“It seems like Community was canceled forever ago”
No it doesn’t. I have never seen a site dedicate so much attention to a finished sub-par sitcom.
“This is a problem. News people shouldn’t be going ‘we’ve got some tweets’. That’s like you walked into the middle of this and said ‘Hey, I was in the bathroom and this guy mentioned to me…”
