@merlinforever - your teasers are from 5 x 09, not 5 x 08. The line “The only **** in there is Morgana’s” the asterisked word I think is hate. People are realizing Gwen is basically possessed by Morgana, they are going to do an exorcism of sorts next week to free Gwen. Arthur's love, with some magical help from Emrys/Merlin, is what going to bring down Morgana this time around.

I think line two is The Dorchraid speaking to Dragoon. Maybe he goes to her to try and figure out what's wrong with Gwen and how to help her (since she seems to know everything) and she doesn't want to help him because he's against Morgana.

Sorcery has to be fought with sorcery is probably Merlin or Gaius telling Arthur that they'll have to use magic to get Gwen back.

"Know this, such hatred as yours can ***** *******." I think the word after can is "never," but I cannot figure out the word after that.

"It’s alright, I know that you have the King’s best interests at heart." I think Merlin says this to Mordred...or vice versa.

Yep, it was very quest like which is the kind of episode I like. The knights are under used is my only grumble, but an obvious effort has been made to include them as much, and as organically, as possible.

i'm a bit confused about this ep, going by the teasers sandi has kindly given us, the content of this episode (to me), doesn't sound like it goes together with the episode title/press release or by what i'd assumed it'd be about - which is the curing evil gwen, with bits of arwen thrown in - i'm now thinking its more about morgana and sorcery (i'm not saying that's a bad thing, just not what i thought the episode will be about) i'm making no sense probably - i'm so rubbish at these comments .....

Hmmm, I'd say the PR for this one is pretty spot on, Merlin doesn't find the powerful magic required to cure Gwen easy, for a few reasons, and Morgana doesn't give her up without a bit of a fight.

Hmmm, how to word this without getting into trouble....Morgana doesn't know that Merlin and Arthur know about Gwen is kinda all I can say, sorry.

Best episode this season for me. All the actors are right at the top of their game too, the fact they enjoyed making it seems to come through in spades.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm afraid Gwaine isn't really in this episode much at all, in fact he's not involved with any of the teaser lines. And there's no magic reveal moments either, sorry :(

@Lucerne - in your long post someone is quoted Morgana DOESN'T know Arthur and Merlin are on to Gwen's enchantment? Geez, Morgana is stuck on stupid.

Welcome all. Will confined to ferret out info. :-) Really looking forward to this episode, I hope it does not disappoint.

HMgwen, since Morgana tried to kill Merlin in episode 8 by her doing her big cartoon imitation of a villain ( e.g. big elaborate plan to kill an enemy, instead of a quick kill),I am assuming that Morgana knows that Merlin is aware that she is controlling Gwen. I read the update as Morgana is unaware that Arthur and Merlin know of her and Gwen's latest plot against Arthur & Camelot (scene from trailer for episode 9 where Gwen gives Morgana a rolled up parchment).

I have a theory on this enchantment and evil Gwen. Remember this is just a guess, I think Morgana took Gwen's soul away, her essence, what makes her human. The way she kills with no remorse, no hesitation in harming her friends and Arthur, she is like a shade of herself. Remember the Lancelot episode, he came out of the lake. In the trailer Merlin consults with the keeper of the underworld, it looks like it's the only way to remove the curse. Gwen's real self/soul is trapped in the underworld, reason why she is in the lake, only way to restore her soul back. The lake of Avalon holds special powers. Just a though

"I want you to tell me where Emrys is." - Morgana to Mordred? :O
Also, I've been thinking that with the leaked spoilers, Morgana is going to learn from Mordred relatively soon who Emrys is. (If Mordred is willing to tell her once he joins back with her in episode 11 or whenever.)

The episode has been called a masterpiece, so I think we're in for the best episode of the season this weekend. Love is the most powerful magic; our main theory that their love breaks the spell still stands. I think the drama and angst of this episode will directly mirror "Lancelot du Lac." Apart from the same episode number in sequence, it has been entitled "With all my Heart." And at the end of LdL, Arthur says "I love Gwen with all my heart..." He makes a huge mistake in that episode when he banishes her; "With all my Heart" will be about them finding each other again. At least, that's what I'm hoping for- the PR and teasers that we've gotten so far seem to point in the direction that this weekend's episode is a mirror to "Lancelot du Lac."

Laila, I love your theory. That's exactly what I was thinking as to why Guinevere is in the lake. <3

I like Laila's theory too. It would fit with why The Dorchraid is returning in the episode and with the teaser which says that the only hate in there is Morgana's.

Q: Thanks Sandi. Can I ask if love always triumphs? ;))) After eight episodes, I would like to finally see the first kiss between Arthur and Gwen.
