Jennifer Garner: I Dieted So Much for Alias That I Can\'t Do "Anything That Extreme" Now

Let her eat cake! After years of intense workouts and strict dieting for her role as a super spy on the now-defunct series

movies, Jennifer Garner is done depriving herself of the good things in life.

Speaking with makeup guru and Yahoo Beauty editor-in-chief Bobbi Brown recently, the

actress said she just doesn\'t have it in her anymore to go crazy trying to lose weight, even when there\'s a big event coming up.

"I mean, believe me, there\'s always a point in the fitting where I feel like, \'Why didn\'t I just try to lose four pounds and then I could wear any dress?\' I just can\'t though," the 42-year-old mom of three told Brown. "I dieted for so long in the middle of doing

and being a superhero, that there\'s something in me that can\'t do anything that extreme."

star still eats pretty healthfully. "With food I\'m probably good 80 percent of the time," she told Brown, noting that she eats "a lot, a lot" of salads.

As for the other 20 percent? "I\'ve found out that I cannot pass up pizza without having some," she admitted. "I just can\'t! My kids have a lot of pizza. I can\'t go to a kids birthday party without having a slice."

(Indeed, Garner was photographed snacking on a piece of pizza while at L.A.\'s Staples Center for the Clippers vs. Celtics game with daughter Violet on Jan. 19.) 

Of course, even when her diet isn\'t wholesome, her image is. "The wholesome is definitely intentional and drilled into me," she told Brown of her clean-cut reputation, which she says was part of her upbringing.

"I mean, we weren\'t allowed to pierce our ears growing up. We didn\'t wear makeup. We couldn\'t have layers in our hair, perms, or color, or manicures," she elaborated. "My dad didn\'t think it was ladylike. My dad just felt like his daughters should be wholesome. Luckily for my dad, none of us really bucked him on it. We were all fine with it."
