I never liked Bonnie. I don't particularly like Rebekah either, but I LOVE Alaric.

I love Rebekah and Alaric. Can't stand Bonnie. I liked her in the first season, now she thinks way to highly of herself. And she is so not a good friend. She turns on Caroline because she was turned into a vampire. even though it was her fault that she was turned. She made Damon give her blood to heal her. and now that Elena is going to turn Bonnie wants her to just die. Julie Plec said so in an interview. So I don't like her at all.

Definitely. She's not so bad but I like Alaric and Bex TONS more.

Only sorta liked Bonnie in the first half of season 1... after that I just couldn't stand her :-(

To be honest... Bonnie is the only one of these three that actively and selflessly works to save 'the show favorites'. Out of all the girls on the show people should respect and inspire to be like Bonnie the most. She has faults, yes, but she takes a stand for what she believes in, she's not swayed by pretty faces... she does what is right. If you think Damon should be easily forgiven for the foul things he does and continues to do then I'd hate to see you in a true relationship. I'd hate to mention what that says about your own character.

Bonnie shouldn't be punished for not being some ditz who forgives grievances because the man who did it has pretty blue eyes (don't be desperate). She should be able to have moments of uncertainty (with Caroline's transformation) because really how would you act if your best friend turned out to be a fearsome vampire who you've been told not to trust. Bonnie is one of thee most realistic character on the show. Period.

Its a pity and a shame that girls would rather turn their nose down at a character with such strong morals, beliefs, loyalty and selflessness than to celebrate her as a strong minded young woman.

Any excuse you give for not 'being fond of or hating' Bonnie... turn and look at the other girls faults (while turning off your obvious bias) there is no contest.

You're right! There are reasons Bonnie is disliked, and those reasons run the gambit. Here are but a few:

1. She isn't stupid.
2. She isn't psychotic.
3. She's isn't the blue-eyed nymph (Damon) sniffing after Elena's magical va-ja-ja.
4. She uses common sense.
5. She has an opinion.
6. She calls it like she sees it and doesn't give a rat's balls whether vamps, tramps, werewolves or witches like it or not.

But hey, I get it. If I was a chick, I'd hate her too. I figure girls would rather be the damsel in distress than the bitch who saves the day.

Oh and just to make this clear, some fans don't need to be from the states to pick up on it. Fangirls operate on a different level and I figured, this is there operative mode.

Stefan threatening Elena over the bridge her parents died at was a terrible thing to do but was it equal to Damon snapping her brother’s neck… in front of her? Alaric’s neck? I won’t go on with the Damon offenses because you watch the show, but which is easier to forgive? I swear some of you people have amnesia only when it suits your needs. Flip the switch and have Stefan do HALF the crap Damon does to Elena (and continues to do) you all would be crying foul.

And yet… I don’t HAVE to accept anything. I don’t HAVE to deal with anything least of all bullshit. I ship Bonnie with EVERYONE and I do mean everyone (aside from Jeremy and Jamie.) My right to do so. One day I’m all for Bamon and the next I’m shipping Klonnie and if I’m feeling particularly adventurous I’ll ship her with Dean Winchester. Difference being I’m not the type of fan who thinks you have to 100% support the actions of the people you ship for it to be a viable and liked ship. That is why I can ship Bonnie with Damon and whoever else lights my fire and gets me off. Do I tell you not to ship what you like? Honestly, why do you care who I ship, my badass ships have nothing to do with your boats.

Damon gets criticized because some people refuse to see his faults. People pettifog his downfalls and actually glorify them as if he’s some sort of demigod who can do what he wants with no backlash even when he deserves it, needs it even. Furthermore, does the criticism of a character mean you cannot be a fan of that exact same character? What kind of basic character can’t be criticized!? Winnie the Pooh?

As for the hypocrite comment? Sweetie please. If it’s just a show, not a big deal and not reality (Who the fuck told you vampires aren’t real? Dammit there goes my life aspirations) then you wouldn’t have taken your sweet time to respond in favor of Damon who obviously you felt I wronged. You mad?

And we bring it on home back to… delenaluv – Damn right I ship Bonnie with everyone INCLUDING the muthafucking kitchen sink. Bamon, Kennett, Klonnie, Monnie, Stefonnie I even ship her with Rebekah (no idea about their shipper name and too lazy to look it up). It is of no fault of mine that Bonnie is so damn shippable. But at the end of the day I’ll always ship Bamon first. Always.

So, I’ll tell you like I told your buddy…. Loving and supporting your ship does not mean you overlook the faults within that ship. Doesn’t mean you put on blinders and pretend that things are prefect. Often times those faults and imperfections are what makes your ship interesting, it’s what makes that ship strong. This is why people think Damon’s fans have one track minds… if you owned up to his shortcoming and said… you know what Damon has done some fucked up things (while holding him accountable and not throwing Stefan under the bus while doing it) but here’s why I think he’s good for my ship (insert your reasons here). He’d be better received. Even more so than he is now.

Bonnie fans would have no problem with TVD fans if you guys didn’t go out of your way to create hate for her. You can dislike her all day long, be my guest (as I severely dislike Elena) but when you aggressively try to ostracize a character and that character’s fans just because it’s Tuesday, that’s when things get sticky. I would have had no real issue with Delena but some of the fans of that ship can drive a sinner to church. The bad fans have made the ship un-enjoyable for me.

Anyway, the whole of your comment was… still confusing (You should work on that). I don’t know how this turned into a thing about ships because that wasn’t the intent of this poll.

My original comment certainly didn’t mention any ships which leads me to believe, for at least you two, that Bonnie threatens your ship (in your minds) and therefore she must be disposed of. I try to be decent when commenting around Damon/Elena fans. I really do. But one thing I’ll never let fly is someone trying to sit me down (I like standing up) or someone trying to shut me up.

I agree that most everyone will acknowledge that Damon has issues. I also agree that both Delena and Bamon fans are willing to skirt over Damon's faults in the interest of their beloved ship. That’s fine. My issue is when you are questioned as a fan of his (and your ships) because you state an observance in his behavior. No one really climbs the walls when Stefan’s character is put on front street, why should Damon be any different? It’s baffling.

I had no idea there was a debating section on Fanpop. Maybe I'll check it out (I'll promise to try to be civil). I think I drive my friends and boyfriend crazy with my stalwart need to debate (or as my bf says... my need to be right lol). Thank you for the heads up! <3

My observation is not an indictment against you or anyone else who've commented on this poll. It's just a small piece of information that I've picked up along the way. So please, take it with a grain of salt.

We all possess hidden biases. We all have negative prejudices that we are not consciously aware of. These unconscious prejudices may not have anything to do with race. They may involved the color of a person's hair or eyes, or it may involve the way a person speaks, walks, dresses or carries him/herself. Either way, we all have reasons to be biased against or in favor of those we enjoy or dislike.

Therefore, when someone states they're not interested in a person or character, there is always a reason for it; and there is most definitely a bias behind it.

One other thing, you're right. This is ridiculous. The poll was ridiculous...and I'm sorry I wasted my time on it.
