Out of these two options, Kion. But really neither. I feel indifferent towards Kopa as he's never existed outside the few books and thus is not a fleshed out character. I don't like Kion much because of how they gave him a superpower but I do think otherwise he has potential as a good character. But rather than modify or develop either of these existing characters I would prefer a third option.

But I am most glad that they did turn the cub at the end of the first film into Kiara. A princess/queen is a nice change to the apparent line of kings the Pridelands had seen in recent decades.
