: The Exhibition at Discovery Times Square really is a must. I’ve been to a few events at the location before, including Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N., and all have impressed, but 

The exhibit has a ton of rooms to explore. There’s District 12, the Victory Tour party, District 13 and many more, and all of them are absolutely packed with costumes, props and fun facts about the making of the films. There’s also a whole bunch of interactive elements, my favorite of which are the “what would you choose” games. The display poses a question like, “If you lived in Panem, what selfless act would you take to save a life?” Then you have to choose from three options – charity, intervention or sacrifice. You turn a little knob underneath your choice and then on the other side, a tiny ball drops into the respective container so that you can walk around the display and see what the majority of visitors went with. For that question in particular, it was pretty fascinating to see so few choose sacrifice when that’s such a key component to Katniss’ journey.

gift shop conveniently located right at the exit of the exhibition and I recommend leaving some time to poke around. As a big fan of the books and films, I’m always looking for fun but subtle ways to show that I’m part of the fandom. The store certainly has loads of items with big, bold Mockingjays on them, but there’s also a ton of very practical pieces, some of which are exclusive to the Discovery store.

If you live in the New York area, it’s well worth the $29.50 admission fee, but if visiting the exhibition yourself isn’t an option, check out over 100 pictures that I took below to get a taste of the experience.
