Everyone was on guard; I was still recovering from Nahul’s... I couldn’t think about it brought back the unpleasant memories.
I had been right about what Jacob and dad had been doing, Nahul was dead. There was however one consisting problem, the newborns. The strangest thing was that everyone went on as normal except that they whipped around at the slightest sound that could mean an intruder. It was funny, everyone was on guard but they all acted normal around me Kate and some others even came to talk to me about wedding plans. I knew what they did when I slept, they held meetings every night about what they were going to do, I knew this because I had woken last night to the sound of Garret growling loudly; luckily no one noticed that I was awake so I eavesdropped their conversation
“It won’t work, we need to give the Denali’s lessons in how to kill a vampire then when Alice sees where they are we go and attack.” Dad कहा in a headstrong voice.
“And we keep Nessie clear of the fight,” Rosalie added in a concerned tone, Rosalie was almost as protective of me as mum, dad and Jake. I didn’t mind, I actually felt sorry for Auntie Rose. She couldn’t have the one thing she truly craved, a human life.
There was a murmur of agreement from the sitting room. That was enough, I covered my ears and tried to think of ways to put myself in the fight; I couldn’t think for long as my eyelids started drooping and I lapsed into a deep slumber.

I awoke to a bright shining light and no beeping sound, I knew where I was. “No, of course not! I just wondered why आप are here so early,” I laughed, it was easy to laugh around the ones I loved, especially Jake.
“Um... Nessie I wouldn’t call this early, it two in the afternoon,” he chuckled freely, “and your mum and dad are in the sitting room and I wanted to see you, so here I am!” he कहा pointing to his head.
I leaned up to get in reach of his lips but I was pulled back द्वारा an unusual pain in my stomach.
“Hey lie back down,” he कहा gently pushing me back on to the तकिया and pressing his warm lips against mine with a smile.
“Hey, we should go and find mum and dad,” I giggled after about five minutes.

“I know I am right!” I trilled as I slowly sat up, being careful not to provoke the pain in my stomach. Jacob held my elbows warily as I staggered drunkenly towards the door.
“I’m fine, I can walk!” I exclaimed as I tripped over my feet, Jacob catching me before I hit the floor.
“Yeah, of course आप can Nessie,” Jacob muttered sarcastically as he lifted me up into his strong brown arms. I struggled for a मिनट but gave up as we made our way to the living room.
Jake set me down on one of the small chairs in the living room as he sat down द्वारा my feet; out of habit I wound my legs around his chest before looking up at mum and dad.
“Hey honey how are आप feeling?” mum asked, smiling”
“I feel fine, mum how did I get here?” I wondered, thinking about it for the first time.
“You had to have surgery on your stomach, and we thought that it would be better for आप if आप woke up in a place आप knew,” Dad कहा glancing at mum, who looked nervous.
I ignored this, trying to pass द्वारा on any disturbing information.
“I’m gonna get breakfast,” I कहा getting up slowly, “you want anything Jake?” I asked as I headed off to the रसोई, रसोईघर that had once been a spare room.
“Nah, I ate lunch before I came,” he teased as he got up to help me.
When we were alone again in the रसोई, रसोईघर I wrapped my arms around his neck and stretched up to किस him- it was kind of awkward with me only being five foot eight inches and Jacob being seven foot- he responded द्वारा holding my hips and lifting me onto the counter so I dint have to stretch as much. I had so much to do today; I wanted to go across the river to the main house and see the others and then I wanted to pop in to Emily and Sam’s house- I knew that the rest of the pack would be there- and finally I wanted to spend time with my close family, Jacob, mum and dad.
When I was showered and dressed, I ran with Jake to the big house, mum and dad were going to stay home; I didn’t even want to think about what they would get up too. As we stepped through the रसोई, रसोईघर door Emmet was perched on the edge of the granite work surface with Rosalie, Alice and Jasper huddled around it.
“Hey, what are आप guys doing?”
“Oh हे guys!” Emmet chuckled while Jasper hastily folded away a large sheet of paper and tucked it into a high up cupboard. I brushed it away before it could bother me.
“Nessie,” Alice squealed bounding over to me, “I AM giving आप a manicure.” Alice stated matter of factly while Rosalie followed behind us.
“Where are the Denali clan?” I wondered out loud
“Oh they had to get back to Alaska; the wedding is in a week!” Alice beamed excitedly as she pulled a small bottle of a glistening silver nail polish out of her bag.
“We already have your dress fitted Nessie, आप are going to प्यार it,” Rosalie grinned brushing through my hair. And I knew that maybe everything would be okay, the wedding was something to look आगे too; and after that we would stand together to fight the newborns. I had hope.
