Jo kept enough of her mind on the game to know what to dodge and when. She wasn’t keeping track of the score, या anything. She was intently focused on the green-robed boy in front of her. Just in front of the two nearsighted Seekers, the Snitch darted, gleaming सोना in the sun. Its silvery wings beat too fast to see, carrying the सोना ball faster than either of the humans chasing it could manage.
Al looked under his arm. Jo had coaxed her old Nimbus to ride right on his Firebolt’s tail. Merlin, did she EVER give up? He turned back to the front, having made up his mind. Jo was a good Seeker. There was no way he’d ever get his hands on the Snitch with her riding his broomtail. Ducking his twin brother, he made up his mind. If she couldn’t see the Snitch, she would never catch it.
Jo, meanwhile, had her own ideas. She knew enough not to trust anything the opposing Seeker did. Instead, she kept her eyes locked on the Snitch, willing her झाड़ू faster. She never saw Al veer off in a different direction. Her only concern was the Snitch. She had even stopped thinking about Alec as the game dragged on.
The two Seekers duked it out for over an hour, neither gaining an advantage over the other. Al might’ve had the better broom, but Jo was smaller and और nimble. They weaved in and out of each other’s flight paths. Just about everyone else in the air stopped playing, their attention on Jo and Al.
Finally, it ended. The Snitch took a sudden dive towards the ground, J and Al close behind. Jo knew this move. Problem was, she didn’t know if Al knew it या if her झाड़ू could handle it.
Five feet above the ground, the ball leveled out. Al nudged his झाड़ू to follow, while Jo had to yank on hers. They raced along. Jo felt her झाड़ू lagging. There was no helping it. She dropped back, while Al’s Firebolt tore after the Snitch. His hand clamped around in, clinching the game in Slytherin’s favor.
((And that's the game! Thanks to everyone who voted, and a very big thanks to LadyEmzy16, my co-author))
