Am I the only one who cringes at the scene where Lily tells Harry to be सुरक्षित and brave?

It's not that I don't like the scene या that I don't find it moving. It's just that while I'm watching it, my brain just kept shouting "How can this be Snape's memory?!!! He's not there!!!!"

Read my टिप्पणी दे again. It was a very moving scene and I did like it , but it should never have been a memory of Snape. How could he remember this if he wasn't there?!! The only people who could remember this are Harry and Lily!

Look at the memory again. आप can see Harry, आप can see Lily. Is snape hiding in a corner somewhere and invisibly watching this take place so he can remember it later on and then share this memory with Harry? Nope, he's not there! He's not even in the building yet, so how can he remember Lily speaking with Harry!

I find the fact that it was included in Snape's memories completely ridiculous. Hayman and Yates must think we're all idiots and we're not going to think about it (or that no one who read the book was going to see the movie). I was so disappointed, because it makes no sense. And before anyone flames me...the scene isn't in the book (but that's never stopped the film-makers before), and JKR herself has कहा that Severus was not there that night. So yeah...it would have been better as a deleted scene. ;)

But I sort of like it when filmakers put their own twist on things. Sure, the फिल्में were too dramatic and had parts not previously mentioned, but filmaking is an art...

I don't mind if they add things या change things slightly either, but it needs to make sense. Why did the leave out Snape and James' 1st meeting as well as Snape's and Lily's break up scene that would explain the whole Marauders/Snape/Lily dynamics only to add a scene to Snapes' memory that is impossible to have taken place. w

Was it moving? Yes, very. Did it belong in Snape's memory? No! He was not there. Only Lily and Harry are there. If Yates really wanted this scene in the movie then he should have shown itt as Harry's memory, NOT SNAPES's!!!!!...Oops, sorry, but this scene really grates on me :P

I was actually wondering if they weren't playing on the (very flawed) logic that this would have been one of Harry's memories, and Severus could have seen it during one of their Occlumency lessons. If so it explains why he was able to see Wormtail kneeling in front of Harry in the Shrieking Shack, why he was able to see Lily and James twirling around and kissing, and why he was able to see Lily talking to Harry.

Yeah, that's an expanation that could be used for all of those scenes, but yes it's very flawed and still very grating for me

Fair enough. It seems we all agree it's flawed logic :)

I wasn't cringing, but I did have a '???' moment.
That scene was touching, but, for the flashback, I thought it would have और memories of Lily/Severus as it was his flashback.
The scene of Lily/James hugging together, I told myself that was Severus looking at a wizarding moving picture of them.
But I couldn't rationalize the 'be brave' scene except to wonder if Severus and/or Albus cast some sort of spell that let them view the last few moments of Lily and James' lives to be sure absolutely what and who was in the house.

I actually do wish they had made the flashback clearer as to Lily/Severus relationship and what broke them up. I foundmyself having to explain it to my other half, my friend at work, and some of my relatives as they had not read the book and were guessing at it.

They understood that he liked her as a child, but didn't really get why he was so devastated about her loss. They wondered about Severus being Harry's true dad, if Lily and Severus were प्रेमी while she was married, all kinds of things.....

I just really wish his flashback was और about HIS life and relationship with Lily than them throwing in bits of Lily/Harry and Lily/James.
