Here are some reviews I found of Riot!.....
~RIOT~
The boys want to marry her, & the girls want to be her. Hayley Williams, and the darlings from Franklin, Tennessee are back with one of the most anticipated releases of the year, "Riot!".
These guys popped out of nowhere in 2005 to give the world a चोटी, शीर्ष notched produced record with "All We Know Is Falling", it sparked an ongoing वाद-विवाद if this band was a product of a major corporation as band. Though the band has denied the claims, it was unoften आप see such a young band to come out of no where to release a near perfect release was far too perfect. I don't think anyone in the band was legal; their ढंढोरची, ढोलकिया was 14! Ever since then, they have kept growing. I loved their first record, and really was looking आगे to this record, but i still haven't gotten a final verdict on this record.
The growth of the band is present. The record starts off with the दिल pounding "For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic". The guitars are at the best the band has ever been. Vocally, Hayley is stunning on the amazing, "Hallelujah", and "Let The Flames Begin". Her vocals remain solid all the way through. Lyrically, one of the most "heart on sleeve" record's i've ever heard. Hayley obviously has been doing a lot of searching and questioning in her life, and it comes through in the songs. It's common knowledge that the band are Christians, and she sings it on her sleeve. But unlike other bands that do so, they approach it in a manner i think the only word to describe is it, real. She doesn't कैन्डी कोट it, and talks about a lot of emotions and situations many people go through; Christian या not.
I do like the record, but i honestly feel they played it somewhat safely. The album started off very strong, but it got a weak as the album went on; almost a generic, formula type. I was looking for a little और rawness, and the guys to have और vocal parts.
The record is catchy; too catchy to not like and I have a feeling it will eventually grow.
~From A Guy Who Doesn't Like Much "Girl Rock"~
Yes, there are very few Chick Singer bands that I enjoy, probably because it feels weird to sing along with them. No Doubt was great back in the day. एवनेसेन्स and Flyleaf have done well for themselves. I was a big Hole and The Muffs प्रशंसक for about one album and even Babes In Toyland. And Superchick and BarlowGirl have there moments. But in the world of rock, it is a man's world...until Hayley Williams has come and shown that she is the real deal. Paramore's Riot is exciting, and although it is not necessarily original in the sound, it is somehow fresh. From the beginning गिटार in "For A Pessimist..." I was hooked. This album is catchy, exploding with bursts of pop-punk energy. Of course, "Misery Business" is an awesome song, but there are many other great songs on this album. I find myself listening all the way through without skipping, and yep, I am गाना along all the way!
~Glad I found out about this band.~
The first four songs are one of the best introductions to a band that I've heard on record. They come out rocking and immediately draw आप in without relent. Everything just hits at once, the vocals, संगीत and the passion. Listen to the words and आप realize that these aren't things 20-somethings usually sing about. (as far as I know) Perhaps there's a maturity here that puts the band above others.
OK, time to take a break from the onslaught for a minute. On "When It Rains" Hayley gives us a great Andrea Corr sound on the chorus. Nice backing vocals, beautiful song.
"Crushcrushcrush" - Another good rocker with a few changes thrown in. The video reminds me of Hyde's "Seasons Call". When Hayley sings the lines "I need something to sing about", "Give me something to sing about" it almost comes across as a challenge.
"We Are Broken" - Another break from the rockers with some nice piano. Sounds like something U2 could have done.
"Fences" is definitely the curve ball on the record. At first listen आप may not be sure if it works या not but after a while आप realize that it does. A nice change of pace and shows another side of the band.
द्वारा the time आप get to "Born For This" a similarity will have been noticed. This song seems like an add on at times but was probably needed as a closer. That being said, the disc moves and plays quickly. आप don't realize that's it's already gone द्वारा and you've heard a lot of music.
On a production note, they could have pulled back on the levels a little bit, especially the 1K band. I'm all for pushing the volume level but parts of this disc पार करना, क्रॉस over into distortion, particularly Hayley's voice.
~Surprisingly Flawless~
This is the first review that I've ever put on Amazon, या any other online retailer for that matter. That just speaks how highly I think of this album.
Yes, it is somewhat close to pop... Its certainly radio-friendly and yes, I could see how this संगीत could be associated with teeny-boppers.
But I'm a 28 साल old successful stockbroker (kind of an oxymoron in this economy), and I cannot speak highly enough of this album.
The tracks flow beautifully, each has a clever hook; and the band is amazing. The drums are tight, yet not overpowering; the गिटार work is clever - being subtle when it needs to be, yet can turn on a dime and become the centerpiece of the song. The lead singer of this band, amazingly enough, is 18 years old. Her vocal range is nothing short of astounding... this girl really has a set of pipes on her.
So yes, call it pop या whatever else आप may want. But in my opinion...
Best Album in the last 5 years.
~A solid release from a great band~
There's no denying it, पैरामोर is an exceptionally talented band. Their lead singer, Hayley Williams, has an amazing set of pipes, their guitarist Josh Farro plays some killer riffs, and the two of them together write some fine songs. They also manage to get in the edgey गिटार and other instruments while allowing Hayley's voice to shine through. Too many bands that do have good singers make the mistake of overpowering the vocals with the instruments. पैरामोर gets it just right. They're one of the few bands like that. "RIOT!" is one of the better albums in my collection and my only real complaint is that there aren't और songs. पैरामोर is at their best when doing up-beat teen angst type songs with heavy गिटार riffs such as "For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic" and "Misery Business". The ballads such as "When It Rains" and "We Are Broken" tend to be RIOT!'s weakpoints but are still good. They also help to give the album some balance, since no one likes a cd where all the songs sound the same.
1. For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic---
Great song to kick off the album. It's nice and fast and has a strong opening. It's incredibly fun to sing along to. It has pretty good lyrics too. Despite being a song about bad-mouthing an ex, the lyrics manage to be at least somewhat original. I don't have any thing bad to say about it, except for the part where they rhyme "about it" and "about it" in the bridge. It's little, I know, but these things bug me.
2. That's What आप Get---
I प्यार this song. Parts of it are kind of confusing but the point is that she's complaining about the mess she's gotten herself into over a guy. The chorus says it all "That's what आप get when आप let your दिल win." I wish they would've put और actual words in the chorus instead of letting half of it be filled with whoas, but on the flip side those same whoas दिखाना off Hayley's voice rather well. They're also fun to sing along to. It has a cool sounding drum part as well.
3. Hallelujah---
If आप want to hear the voice I've been raving so much about, go find this song. It probably showcases Hayley's vocals better than any other song on the album. Other than that, the song is good but nothing special. Still, it offers that good solid power ballad that most good rock albums have.
4. Misery Business---
It's a song that basically says "You may have stolen my man but now that आप dumped him he's hanging out with me and we're having so much fun without you." Now that's what आप call teen angst at it's finest. I usually don't like these types of songs but I've never heard anyone do them as well as Paramore. The opening गिटार riff is extremely catchy and आप will probably find yourself humming it after आप listen to it. Between that and the solo later in the song, the गिटार is probably the best feature of this song. Unfortunately, Hayley's voice doesn't really excel the way it's meant to as the verses are pretty mono-tone and almost rap. Overall, it's a fun-to-listen song even if it is pretty shallow.
5. When It Rains---
After the first four songs, this one sounds a little out of place. There are no edgy गिटार riffs, in fact the song really has no edge at all. Unlike some of the other songs that only take one listen to get आप loving the song, I think आप have to listen to it a few times before आप can really appreciate it. It definitely shows और vulnerability than any other song on the album.
6. Let the Flames Begin---
This is one of my least प्रिय songs on the album. It's pretty mediocre lyric wise (I still haven't figure out what it's about) and the संगीत isn't much better. Well it's still a good song, it's just not one of the ones that you're going to remember off the album; not one the ones that will get stuck in your head. What's the term we give these types of songs: filler. But as filler goes it's pretty good. As regular songs go, it's not. I definitely like the chorus better than the verses.
7. Miracle---
This is one of the best songs on the album. It's one of the songs where they got everything right, lyrics, music, everything was perfect. It's one of the deepest songs on the album that still makes sense. "Let the Flames Begin" is probably deep to, but like I कहा I can't really decide what it's about.
8. crushcrushcrush
This is one of the और लोकप्रिय songs off the album, but not necessarily one of the best. While it is catchy and fun to listen too, it's pretty weak lyrically. I like the bridge where she goes "Rock `n roll, honey" and I don't really know why.
9. We Are Broken---
This song is another one of my least प्रिय on the album. It does have good lyrics but it sounds too much like a lullaby to be interesting. Since it's not very interesting people don't really notice the lyrics. Well I can give पैरामोर credit for being versatile I'm not sure that I really want to hear और songs like this from them या not. Part of me wants them to keep trying these kinds of songs because I don't want them to be one of those bands where all they're material sounds the same. The other part of me says they should stick to what they're best at, and "We Are Broken" isn't it.
10. Fences---
Usually I don't like it when famous people sing about being famous, but this one isn't too bad. It's not as snobby as most songs about being famous are. No "everyone wishes they could be like us" या "We're better than you". The best विवरण would be "A दिन in the life of a famous person." I like it, but it's not one of the standouts.
11. Born For This---
Possibly the all around best song on the album. It has great lyrics, is fun to listen and sing along to, and a kick-butt गिटार part. It also leaves आप feeling good, which is something I think every last song on an album should do. I always hate it when bands make the last song on their album sad and depressing, as Simple Plan did with "Still Not Getting Any...", All-American Rejects did with "Move Along" या Good चालट, चार्लोट, शेर्लोट did with "Chronicles of Life and Death" (although the last has been good about this with all their other albums). पैरामोर definitely got it right with "RIOT!".
I like this album. There is no doubt it is aimed at a young audience, I recommend it for teens and young adults who like the teen angst sound, but I doubt anyone over 30 will like it too much.
So, what is your HONEST opinion about Riot?

I am outside
And I've been waiting for the sun
With my wide eyes
I've seen worlds that don't belong
My mouth is dry with words I cannot verbalize
Tell me why we live like this
Keep me सुरक्षित inside
Your arms like towers
Tower over me
Yeah
Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole
Lock the doors
Cause I like to capture this voice
it came to me tonight
So everyone will have a choice
And under red lights
I'll दिखाना myself it wasn't forged
We're at war
We live like this
Keep me सुरक्षित inside
Your arms like towers
Tower over me
Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole
Tower over me
Tower over me
And I'll take the truth at any cost
Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole
And I've been waiting for the sun

What a shame
We all became such fragile, broken things
A memory remains just a tiny spark
I give it all my oxygen
So let the flames begin
So let the flames begin
Oh glory, oh glory
This is how we'll dance when
When they try to take us down
This is what will be, oh glory
Somewhere weakness is our strength
And I'll die searching for it
I can't let myself regret, such selfishness
My pain and all the trouble caused
No matter how long
I believe that there's hope
Buried beneath it all and
Hiding beneath it all and
Growing beneath it all and
This is how we'll dance when
When they try to take us down
This is how we'll sing, oh
This is how we'll stand when
When they burn our houses down
This is what will be, oh glory
Reaching as I sink down into light
Reaching as I sink down into light
This is how we'll dance when
When they try to take us down
This is how we'll sing, oh
This is how we'll stand when
When they burn our houses down
