That... some people can judge a whole population of people from a certain country based on the actions of a few.

When people put something down in order to bring something else up. That's something that...ugh... I can't stand it.

I have quite a few huge pet peeves, actually.

People who think they're right when they're not, for starters (like they get a fact wrong but insist they're right anyway). Even if I have no part in the conversation or the person is on my side of the argument, I can't stand when people get their facts wrong and I have to correct them for everyone's sake.

I'm also a super possessive person, and I hate when people touch my stuff, especially my food. I don't care if I'll never use it or eat it; unless I specifically give permission, no one is allowed to touch anything that's mine. I even get possessive over a character's possessions in works of fiction - like when character A gives something for Character B to look at, and then Character C waltzes and takes the object from Character B without knowing whose it really is, I get super stressed out. It's like my two main pet peeves combined.

I also dislike people waking me up when there's no need to do so. I've been a bad sleeper most of my life, and even though the melatonin supplements work for me, every minute of sleep I get is still precious. I believe waking up naturally is so much healthier than being woken up by anything (as long as you go to bed at a consistent time), and I find deliberately waking someone up when they can sleep in to be incredibly rude and arrogant, because who knows if they were up half the night trying to get back to sleep? Not everybody sleeps like a rock, and some people need as much as they can get because they can't sleep while everyone else does at night. Honestly, use your brain a little - just because you were able to sleep peacefully for eight hours straight doesn't mean they were. Let them wake up when their body is ready to wake up, you arrogant prick. This pet peeve is so bad, I literally get anxious when other people get woken up early on their day to sleep in.

And there's more. I hate being controlled. I believe no one knows a person better than themselves, and that they know their own likes, dislikes, and limits more than anyone else. Overbearingly strict parents drive me nuts - there are several instances where my own parents didn't allow me to read or watch something because I "wasn't ready for it" or it "wasn't appropriate", and looking back on it I call bullcrap. What's appropriate and what isn't is subjective from person to person - I read Let the Right One In, a book with themes such as pedophilia and child prostitution along with murder, when I was 12 and it didn't bother me at all (although this is an extreme case, I still stand by my point). Not to mention a lot of people use the term "appropriate" as a synonym for "what's my taste and my taste only, therefore any subject matter that doesn't align with my views or personal preferences is bad for everyone", which is a card overbearingly strict parents love to pull.

Okay, this is a silly one, but it drives me crazy - I hate when people make comments or ask questions about things that they don't know entirely about but they assume they do (this could tie in to the first one). To clarify, I'll give an example: When the last Harry Potter movie came out, I saw movie-watchers-only make comments about Neville/Luna and Draco/Pansy being endgame. To those who read the books, these statements are ridiculous, but those movie-watchers-only just assumed everything from the movie was canon (or got their facts about the movie wrong and still assumed it was canon) and so posted things like "[insert event here]. Your thoughts?" or "[insert movie question that's easily answered in the books]. Thoughts?" as if everyone in the community was all on the same page when we clearly weren't because they were uninformed but they thought they were and I just I can't even *dies* (Or maybe I just hate when people put "Thoughts?" at the end of the question, because to me it reinforces the idea even more that they think we're all on the same side of things - that is, we the community are all puzzling over this event together when in reality those who read the books are just rolling our eyes at the question.)

I also second what Zeppie said. *cough*Tumblr*cough*

Sorry for the rant, but I tend to get irritated very easily.
