The penguins were far on their way. The morning turned to a sweltering afternoon. Later, that shifted to a chilling night. The waves rocked mellowly.
Private glided through the water with Celeste on his left and Skipper on his right. Everything felt right. Even though the water was freezing due to nightfall, none of them were the least bit cold. They all had swam through much worse.
As time passed on, they weren't even close to the destination they had hoped for. All of them, began to tire sooner या later.The energy to keep going was scarce in all of them. The sky above the ocean was pitch black. Only a waning moon loomed over them for light.
Skipper, growing iritated, motioned for his men to surface. Kowalski gulped, and floated up. The others followed. Just noticing Skipper's body language and demeanor, made it transparently clear that Skipper was going to explode.
"Kowalski! I thought आप कहा that we'd be at Tresaure Cay द्वारा now!" Skipper complained.
"Well, I calculated that!" He defended myself. Out of nowhere, he had his options notebook. With a pencil, Kowalski began लेखन out a mathmatical equation. It took up the whole page, but only took him a matter of सेकंड्स to solve it. "Oh..."
"What 'oh'?" Skipper asked.
Kowalski eyes grew in horror. "As in uh-oh…"
"What do आप mean?" Private shrunk with fear.
"We won't make it to Tresaure Cay, until two a.m.!" Kowalski shivered.
"Grrrr…" Rico growled.
"Wait! There is another option…" Kowalski muttered.
"What would that be…?" Skipper edged.
"We could stop at Whale Cay." He कहा the name of the island like a curse.
"Whale Cay?!" Private asked terrified. The team started to panic. Celeste was completely baffled द्वारा their fear. She stood, and looked at them quizically.
"Guys, chill! It's just an island." Celeste कहा almost giggling.
"Yes, but there are…" Private gulped.
"Orcas!" Kowalski squealed.
"Wait, let me get this straight… you're afraid of 'killer' whales." She chuckled-amusing herself.
"Aren't oo?" Rico grunted 'aren't you?'.
"Of course not! I've even fought one." Celeste told.
"You mean आप killed an orca?!" Private gasped.
"No, I didn't! It tried to attack me, so in self-defense…" She trailed off.
"Whoa!" Rico exclaimed in astonishment. Every one seemed to have different feelings about learning this. Rico was amazed and wished he had her strength. He had no idea about the bleak side-effects of the power. Kowalski thought it was essential to have her as a protector. Skipper, on the other hand, wasn't too keen on the idea. Sure, Celeste was lethal; but what if using her as a weapon backfired?
"So how far away is the ह्वेल, व्हेल Cay?" Skipper interrogated.
"About a few minutes…" Kowalski estimated.
He let out a defeated sigh. "All right,"
They reached the किनारा, शोर of the cay in that time. The penguins dragged their weary bodies up the shore. It was a starless sky above. The once shining moon became masked द्वारा clouds. "Custer's undies! What time did we get here? What time is it now?!" Skipper exclaimed to his team mates. There was no answer-just the sound of breathing.
He turned his head from side to side. All his men were sprawled out-sleeping on the pearly sand that shimmered in the sunlight. The noise of people laughing and playing surrounded them. Feet rushed द्वारा absent-mindedly thrashing sand at them and everywhere else pretty much.
"Boys, wake up!" The skipper bossed. They all woke up with a jump.
"What time is it?" Private moaned. With a yawn, he began rubbing his temples.
Kowalski sat up, put on sunglasses, and skeptically looked up at the sun observantly. "It's about....eleven,"
"Eleven?" Rico cried.
"We must have slept in," Celeste yawned.
After finding a hidden place that was remote from the humans, the penguins built a shelter. They settled in a पेड़ in the forest. The leaves that they were among made a soft haven to rest.
Once they got comfy, something attracted Private's attention. A chirping sound came from nearby. The young पेंगुइन let his curiousity take over. Through the branches and greens, he followed his earholes; and wandered away from his friends.
He pushed aside two final leaves in his way. Then, he saw the terror that was taking place.
A nest sat on the branch in front of him. Three chicks screeched in their nest. They were calling for their mother. Another cry came from the ground.
A bird was trying with all her might to fly up to them. Something had her-or some one.
A man in a gray uniform was struggling to contain her. His hand gripped her left leg mercilessly. In his other hand was a sack.
"Let her go!" Private panicked. The man stared up at him with his black shades-just realizing he was there. The bird was released, and soared to her fledgings.
From his belt, the man pulled out a pistol. A devious smirk crossed his face, as he aimed the gun at Private. But he didn't pull the trigger, instead he just stood there-with that look.
Back with the commando team, Celeste's eyes flared green. She gasped.
"What's wrong?!' Skipper demmanded.
"Private's in trouble!" She responded urgently.
"Let's go, boys," Skipper declared boldly.
Meanwhile, Private stared into the man's eyes. The man contuined his wry smile. "Come and get it, आप freak of nature." He snickered.
