i do think she was being nice and i like lindsey

I think she meant well, but it had a different meaning deep down. I think that in the same eppy, lindsey even said to luke - "I don't want to sound like a jealous girlfriend, but with two of your gorgeous ex girlfriends coming back into town I have to ask this and I promise I'll never ask it again: should I be worried about us?" (or something like that). So I think she meant to be nice to break the ice and convince herself that she wasn't insecure, but I think she really was marking her territory without knowing it. More with Peyton than brooke.

I don't think that she was trying to be a mean person- I think that she was just trying to make sure that Peyton knew that she loved Lucas, and that she was just making her presence obvious. I think that she was honselty trying to become friends with Brooke and Peyton so that everyone appreciated her, because it's hard to be the new "love" of Lucas.
I think that Lindsey is arrogant, but I honestly don't think that she meant to be a bitch- but she was marking her territory.

Ok i've answered this before so i'll just post my comment.

Im kinda in the middle of the three answers, becuase i think she was being nice, but also marking her territory on some level. Also Peyton's reaction came out a little harsh when she confronted Lindsey but I still disagree on one thing: while Peyton obviously jumped to conclusion about it, after seeing everything about Lindsey about how she was actually uncomfortable with BP being around but didnt voice it, about how she's unhappy with the timing of Lucas' desire to write again....all indicates that maybe Peyton wasnt far off when she accused Lindsey of trying to "mark her territory", but At first I thought 'She's overreacting, Lindsey's just being friendly'. When She gave Brooke a plant too, I was sure that Peyton had made a total fool of herself. But then at the end, Lindsey asks Luke if she should be worried because his 'two' ex's were in town I was like 'so she was marking her territory with Peyton and Brooke.' Remember, Lindsey's not like us. She doesn't know what's going on. As far as she knows, Brooke and Lucas could have the whole LP vibe going on too. She doesn't know they're just friends. All she knows is that two girls he cared for very much are back in town and suddenly he's writing all night long. So she wanted to kind of tell both girls that she was around, so neither should try taking a trip down memory lane with Luke.

EDIT: Ok i changed my mind, i think lindsay was marking her territory because she said she gave the plant to peyt (& brooke) becuase they have both started their new job that they have dreamed of doing, but what i have notice is that she never gave haley a lucky plant, i mean hello haley just started her new job and not to mention haley is her closes friend right now, so why not give her a gift??? Why would lindsay all of a sudden give two strangers who happen to be lucas' "Gorgeous ex. Girlfriends" lucky bamboo plants, but not your closes friend(who happens to need more luck than the other two)?? Sounds like she marking something with both of them. Also IF Haley had been given a bamboo gift too I'm sure she would have told Peyton something like yeah she got me one too when I started teaching or yeah Lindsey gives them to everyone when they start a new job, but she said nothing of the sort. Peyton and Brooke were obviously the ones to get a bamboo.

In my opinion i think she was trying to do the " "keep your friends(if she has any)close and your enemies closer" kind of thing.

doesnt mean she wasnt being nice but i think she was soooo marking her territory, if anyone knows lucas' powerful past with both girls its lindsay, after all she was one of the first people to read his book so she knows exactly what she is up against.

OMG LF4E THAT WAS GREAT NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT - she never gave haley a bamboo when she started teaching cause she wasnt insecure about them! were she IS with brooke and peyton! good job :P

good point LF4E. you reminded me that the only reason why lindsey marked her territory with both girls was cause as far as she knew, they could both be a threat since they BOTH returned when luke started writing his book. She had no idea that Peyton and Luke had a convo @ trick ("Your art matters, Lucas...it's what got me here") which was his true inspiration to write again . It didn't take Lindsey long to realize that it was indeed peyton who was the threat once 5.06 & 5.07 came along (seeing leyton's cars outside peyton's office one night; and seeing that luke couldn't stay away from peyton @ tric).

I think she was. She even said "You have these 2 gorgeous ex girlfriends back in town and I am trying so hard to be ok with it" or something like that. and the way she said "I'm here" Manface may as well have peed all over Peyton's desk :P

Nah I think she was trying to be nice to them. But maybe she was a little jealous of them coz Luke loved them both in the past. But I don't think she was trying to make her territory. No way!
And I hate it when people call her manface, that doesn't even makes sence... And seroiusly why does so many poeple here hate her so much :S
