	abs07 picked No: *rolls eyes* Luke took peyton's "someday" as a no, and therefore didn't believe she'd say yes someday. So he believed there was nothing to wait for. Lindsey said yes; she only didn't marry luke because she thought he still loved peyton. Luke figured lindsey would eventually believe that he "loved only her". but it didn't take him long to move on and propose to peyton again did it. Yeah he waited for lindsey alright...waited for "4 whole episodes." At least he waited for peyton for a year when she wanted to pursue her dream in L.A. And when he left her in L.A after she said someday, he never dated. He infact called her about a year after that to try and work things out (so deep down he still waited). If it weren't for lindsey being in the way and causing that misunderstanding, Leyton would have reunited that day @ luke's book signing. So you see...Luke did wait for peyton; a hell of a lot longer than he did for lindsey. 7326, we all know Peyton was only ready to marry jake because brooke had luke; jake called her on it "What if Brooke didn't have luke?" At that moment, we all knew Jake was her second choice; her fallback guy. So even if they went through with it, it would not have lasted; seeing as how brucas did eventually break up for good in 408 which had nothing to do with peyton (so don't get me started on that argument :P) Peyton was gonna marry luke, she said "in a year" (to wait for the whole engagement thing). She just wanted it to be right when they did settle down; she loved him too much to rush into anything & then regret it someday. She was 19 and just starting to pursue her career. Luke was too: "Whitey believes in you and Nathan needs you. If I ask you to walk away from your dream you'll wake up one day and resent me for it the same way I'd resent you if you asked me to leave L.A." Ppl misunderstand that moment/scene for Peyton being selfish, but she was selfless and smart enough for herself & luke (too bad his insecurities clouded him from seeing it that way). She didn't want to say yes to a proposal that was fueled by desperate insecurity. Luke missed Peyton and in fear that they might drift apart, luke wanted to seal the deal to put his fears to rest. However, I think that Lucas was waiting to prove a point that he loved Manface and not Peyton, even though it wasn't true, just to convince himself that he loved Manface more than anyone. I also like to believe (though it's probably not true) that he was secretly conspiring to throw Manface down a well, and by making everyone believe he was waiting for her and that he loved her, he wouldn't be a suspect.
